Dolphin and birthday celebration question

Hi All

Love the Dolphin and have stayed many times, can't wait until our Christmas trip. My dh and my youngest dd (turning 8) will celebrate a birthday during our vacation. In the past we have been lucky enough to celebrate birthdays at the CR and Poly and the resort has provided a cake and balloons.

My dh can do without (lol) but I really want to do something for my 8yo - and if possible I would like to set it up on the sly. While the CR and Poly sent the cakes complimentary, I don't mind paying as it is that important. I went to the special request section and found wine and cheese et-al but no birthday stuff. We are doing a grocery stop so I could to a cake then but I would rather plan a surprise through the Dolphin if possible.

Has anyone done this and if so how was it? While my dd will totally appreciate the vacation either way, I think at least a cake is important for an 8yo.

I looked at Gifts of a Lifetime and they are to pricey for this trip (sorry).

we also got a cake at the cr for my ds 8th b-day they were so great there. as for the dolphin if you dont mind paying i have heard alot of people talk about the walt disney world florist on here i think you can have a cake delivered to your room from them. just a thought too we stayed at the dolphin last year and they have a great icecream place maybe you can have a huge birthday icream sundae sent up yum! have a great time .

The ice cream would be great for dh but unfortunately my dd is milk allergic. Actually we are going to go to Blue Zoo for dh while the kids play in the kids club so he is now covered.

I will look into the florist for a cake for dd but I think we will just let her pick a character meal with a cake instead of a room cake.
