Dollywood First Visit

Be prepared that there aren't many rides for a 22 month old to go on. It's not like Disney World where the majority of rides have no height requirement. Many of the "kiddie rides" have a 36 inch height requirement. There wasn't much my 2 year old could ride when we went last summer.

I paid a couple bucks on eBay to get a Dollywood discount code. I'm sure it was a corporate code I wasn't technically supposed to use, but it worked and saved me some money.

Thanks for letting me know. I thought that may be the case, but I know he will enjoy just seeing the park and eating lol. That is interesting about the code. I will check that out.

Thanks!

The Tim Tracker is a popular Disney and Universal YouTuber, and he did a video on Dollywood a few months ago. I'd assume its worth the watch because his Disney/Universal videos are usually informative and helpful.

I follow Tim Tracker also and love his videos! His one on Dollywood was excellent as usual.

Oh here is another tip! Don't sit near the front of the train. There is a ton of coal dust that blows near the front and it's very easy to get it in your eyes.
Oh wow! great to know. I know we plan to ride the train. Thanks!

If you are interested in the shows, i think you can pull the showtimes off of the website or app ahead of your day at the park and select the times you want to see which shows in advance. That can help you schedule your day and avoid missing any shows you really wanted to see.

Great to know! Thanks so much.

We get Dollywood Season Passes every other Christmas. Their park at Christmas time is amazing and if you buy the season pass after the middle of November it is good for the rest of the current year and all of the next year. We stay at the Dream More. It is lovely. You get skip the line passes too.

Sounds perfect! Thanks Dawn.

Does the Gold Pass get you 20% off all food or have restrictions?
Sorry I never responded to this. I asked hubby. and he couldn't remember if there were any food places with restrictions. I think (but not positive) we got it even on drinks and Dippin Dots and stuff like that . Not positive tho. Also, I think at the restaurants, the discount was technically for just the passholder, but they always gave it to all of us. I know when we went for the festival of nations, the food booths took it. I had to go find hubby tho each time I wanted something, so we'd get the discount. Ha. I hope you have a great time when y'all make the trip!

Thanks so much for the advice. This helps a lot. We are excited to go in a couple weeks. Especially now after we were hit by the tornado this week. Our home received some damage, but thankfully we are all okay. It will be a good escape for a few days from all that is going on.

There's a pretty good selection of rides for little ones in the county fair section. It will not be crazy busy when you are here (I live in Sevierville) - except for spring breakers. Those start this week and will keep us pretty busy until Easter. Then a lull until Memorial Day weekend. Dollywood VIP parking (I think $25) is SO worth it ... you park walking distance from the entrance. I had the gold card before - no food restrictions. When it is busy, if you ride rides, you can get a Q-Bot - saves your place in line, you ride at an appointed time. The app is pretty user friendly - gives wait times/show times, etc.

If you plan to go to any shows you will want to check the schedule before you go as not every show is done everyday. It’s not fun to want to see a show and discover it’s not playing the day you’re there.

Dollywood is loads of fun and it’s usually not as crowded Monday thru Thursday as the weekends. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Great Idea! Thanks so much Marthachick!
