I always thought Dolly had a great personality. I bet if it is true she was probably having an off day, just like the rest of us.

My DH said the president has his limo, and other vehicles, flown in on a C130 or C141 Air Force plane.

When the President travels, he does indeed bring his own limo on Air Force One. It's designed with safety features at the request of the Secret Service - bullet-proof glass, puncture-proof tires, etc.

On a happier note, a friend who worked for several years at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta said that David Bowie (my favorite ) was one of the neatest and nicest celebrities who he ever encountered, and that he played some tunes down in the hotel bar one night.

On another note, my ex used to work security for a hotel in Nantucket, and he met a lot of celebrities. I remember him saying that Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow (at separate times) were polite, but they didn't talk much and seemed very tired. So he just drove them from the airport to the hotel and let them be.

My company (windows and doors) does a lot of service work at Steven Tyler's house. The tech who goes says that when he's there, he's very nice - answers the door himself, tells him to help himself to anything in the fridge if he's hungry or thirsty, etc.

I myself met Meatloaf once. He didn't even look at me. Just signed my cassette and ran off.

And then there was the time I walked past Bob Dylan in Switzerland. I didn't recognize him at first. He gave me this look like, "Please don't recognize me." By the time we'd passed, it dawned on me..."Wait a minute...that was BOB DYLAN!"

Celebrities are human, too. They have days when they get up on the wrong side of the bed and want to be left alone.
