Dolly Parton

Celebrities are human and are allowed to have a bad day. I have worked with celebs for my entire career - some let fame get to their head and some don't.

I know personally I have had bad days (who hasn't) and not been as friendly to my hairdresser as I should have been. Good thing I'm not anyone famous or I would be on the cover of the STAR too. ;)

:rotfl: Always be nice & friendly to your hairdresser, she/he has scissors and can make a "bad hair day" turn into a "bad hair month or so"! :teeth:

I'm sorry--but the masseuse shouldn't be talking about other people who come in for massages. Talk about generically--but naming names is a no no.

I agree! I once went to a hair dresser in Vail, Colorado and I asked if she had celebrity clients. She said yes and then continued to tell me about the nice ones and not-so-nice ones. I was kind of shocked. I would think she could be fired over this.

Now, on the other hand, my cousin used to be a golf pro at a New Orleans Country Club. He often told us about celebrities he played golf with. He didn't have any bad words to say about any of them except for one. He had a bad experience with one very famous star and he swore that he'd never play another round of golf with him. My cousin mentioned the star's name but he never did tell us what happened.

If my masseuse, hair dresser or anyone in that type of position told me "gossip" about another client, I'd wonder what they were telling people about me. :confused3

Time to look for another masseuse, I'd say.

That's what I was thinking too...

My neighbor is a CEO of a large company, so he uses limos quite a bit.

On one trip (about an hour and a half), shortly after a presidential visit, the limo driver went on and on for the entire hour and a half about how rude and diva like President Bush was.

He said of all the famous people that he had ever squired, President Bush was by far the nastiest and rudest of all. He just couldn't get over the difference between the folksy public persona and the angry person that was in his limo.

And no, the neighbor didn't ask the limo driver if he was a left-wing democRAT.

Can someone please tell me how, exactly, does Ms. Parton lay on her stomach for a massage?

very cautioslly?

trick table?

IMO. Everyone has their bad days. No matter who you are there will be times when you are in a horrible mood. Even the nicest people can have their crabby moments.

Just curious, wouldn't the president have a personal driver along with his presidential limo. I can't believe that they would stick him in Joe's Luxury Limos at the drop of a hat?

That could explain why she wasn't very friendly. pirate:

So the story doesn't have a happy ending? :confused3

Also--the last time I was in a limo...the driver didn't talk much during the trip. And the glass was up. :confused3

But I'm not in them often..maybe I was just left alone since I was a novice. :confused3

If the president was travelling he would need a limo to get from the airport to his destination. He wouldn't have his own limo accessible. Maybe that's what the poster was intending. I could be wrong.

In most limo's you have the option of putting the window up or down at your discretion. Not that I'm experienced in them, I think I've been in one a total of 2-3 times. :rotfl:

Listen, trust me, I am NO fan of GWB but I find it hard to believe that Joe's Luxury Limos drove the president and was allowed to keep the glass down and chat with him. Wouldn't the president be somewhat busy in the back of the limo with world issues? I don't know but I hate to think that security is that lax. :confused3

if we are going to 'dish' i will add-

james garner is an absolutly wonderful guest at a hotel-and he preadvises of his personal likes and dislikes,

lily tomlin's 's.o.'/'manager' is a poor reflection on her partner/client,

donald o'conner's wife is a delightful woman who is reasonable in her expectations while being very protective of her husband,

if you realy want to hear the DIRT on whitney huston-talk to room service and stateroom staff on disney cruises who have been horribly abused with no apologies, no recorse, and NO MINIMUM TIPS!

When I ride in a limo I usually pretend I am deaf so I don't have to talk to the driver :snooty: :snooty:

My husband got a massage last night and was making small talk with the masseuse. She said that a lot of country-western famous people come in for massages. And, she said the WORST ONE EVER was DOLLY PARTON!

How disappointing! I don't really listen to Dolly Parton's music, but I loved her persona. . . all folksy and sweet. She seemed so charming!

Anyways, the masseuse said that Reba McIntyre comes in, and is very nice (although nobody can see her without her makeup), and some others, but that Dolly Parton is RUDE to everyone. . . the receptionist, the masseuse, etc. She stressed she's a complete DIVA, used the term "incredibly rude" and "nasty" and NEVER TIPS!

I was just a bit disappointed and thought I'd share it. Anyone else hear stories like this? Not just of Dolly. . .

She was super nice when I met her. We spoke as if we had known each other for years. It was totally unprofessional though to gossip with another client. I would wonder what she said about me to other people.

Hey, I didn't say anyone actually believed the driver. :rotfl2:

But yes, it was a driver who supposedly drove the President from the airport to the meeting place.

And the neighbor is a CEO of a LARGE company - he doesn't use Joe's Limo Service.

Supposedly, the limo driver saw and heard the President berating his staff and basically acting like a petulant child throwing a temper tantrum.

But again, it is hard to believe that somebody with enough clearance to drive the head of state also would be so loose lipped.

But it is just as plausible as a masseuse claiming to massage Dolly Parton :goodvibes
