I have a rental with Dollar for eight days in May for a compact at a total cost of $162, using KISS2. I check with Dollar frequently, and if the rate goes down I rebook. I just checked and now the same eight days for a compact is $218.

And it's not because May is approaching, I also checked my October rental and that's now $190 as opposed to when I booked it for $134.

It looks like Dollar is no longer the best deal in town for rentals.

I noticed that too. I am really glad I booked my rentals for my upcoming trips at the lower rates!!!

National rates jumped. I booked my rental car last week when the prices dropped. 8 days for Emerald Isle for $218 (includes all taxes and fees). Today I was checking and it was up to $278.

This is for our trip in August.

I have been checking the rates everyday for some time and I noticed that my dates have jumped $50 at Dollar.:confused3 I am also thankful that I booked early. Wonder if they will come down closer to May. We are going May 27 - June 5.

How far in advance can you book a rental car usually? And for the good codes from Dollar and such, are there black out dates?

TIA!

I booked Dollar for Easter Week. I got $200 for an Intermed for 9 days. That same rservation now is over $600.

KISSE rate is the newest one, seems to be giving good rates (except for me lol).

note - i tend to check my rates every week (usually more often;) ); they tend to ebb & flow and back again:confused3 ; just keeping plugging away:thumbsup2 good luck.
