This is the first time my family is renting a car during our Disney vacation. I have never rented a car before. I have booked a reservation with Dollar in the Orlando airport. I am a bit nervous of this company because they do not operate where I live and I have never heard of them. Can anyone give me a review on an experience renting from Dollar good or bad? I just want to know if I need to go with a different place for my rental.

Thanks for any help or feedback!

Used Dollar many times. They are good. Using Alamo this time because it is cheaper for us.

Used them for years with no problems. For future reference sign up for Dollar Express and you get your own, usually shorter, check in line inside the terminal.

You check in inside the terminal and then go across the street into the parking garage to get the car. The person at the window in the garage will give you the keys and a diagram of a car on paper where you SHOULD note any dent/scratches/marks on the car before you drive off. If you find any you take it back to the window and they should either make their own copy or initial it. Get their name. I usually take photos of the car before we leave. Some, not necessarily Dollar, rental companies may try to charge you for marks in the car you did not do.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. operates in more than 640 worldwide locations in 53 countries, including 350 in the United States and Canada. They are a good sized company. I've rented from Dollar several times over the years in Orlando, mostly for minivans.

Dollar is a nationwide company. We have rented from them many times.

Just FYI, I went to the Dollar web site and they list an office on W. National Dr, Dayton.

I have rented from Dollar. But I have used the location across from Downtown Disney. We have had no problems. They have picked us up or dropped us off at our hotel. Or I have taken a bus to/from Downtown Disney. We used the ME to get to/from the airport.

Dollar in Orlando got the boo be prize in July and August for rude pushy agents trying to sell you insurance. Not sure who will get it in September.

We rented from Dollar last year and were sooo happy with them we are using them again. We did sign up for the Dollar Express - and like a PP said, it was so quick. We stepped right up, she had all of our papers ready with the key - took less than 2 minutes and we were off! She did not try to sell insurance (that I can recall) and she was quite pleasant. Also - if you join the Dollar Express program you build up points that you can use towards future rentals.

I just double checked our rates this morning, and for a full size for 10 days with all taxes/fees it is $192 - I am quite pleased with that. I would definately recommend them. :thumbsup2
