Dollar Minivan $219/week AMEX

I have been lamenting the high car rental rates, esp for minivans or SUVs (we have 6 in family). Thanks to this board, I looked in on the Priceline boards (bidding for travel board). There I saw a tip to look at Dollar, using the AMEX code AX07. Actually, this is right on the site, as well, minivans for $219/week thru August 31st. It solves my problems with dropping the van off 2 hours over the one week mark, as well. Here are the totals with taxes:

Total if I brought it back exactly or just under a week, $273
Total for 2 hours over a week (my situation due to flight times) $276

Dates, Aug 4-10

Now, I am no big fan of Dollar, but National and Alamo are letting me down!

try alamo again. just today i got a week in sept for $253. i used a $25 coupon and amex it is the cheaper van (not the sienna)

Yes, go check alamo rates.I got a suv for 10 days for $235.00 using the amex code and a $25.00 entertainment coupons.I dont think that was a bad price at all!!
