Dollar Express - garage or counter?

I'm confused on Dollar Express. I just joined & added my # to my existing March rental. On their website it says Dollar Express members have a dedicated line. When I called to add my Express # to the reservation I asked the agent whether I can go to the garage to pick up the car or the dedicated line at the counter. She said counter. I've seen other posts where people have said they went straight to the garage & saw their name on a board similar to Hertz Gold. So which is it? Dedicated line at the counter or straight to the garage? I don't want to go to the garage only to have to head back to the counter.

Anyone have recent experience? Thanks.

Just did this in January. They used to have a dedicated line at the counter. When I got to the counter and ask for the Express window they told me to go out to the kiosk in the garage. I went out to the kiosk in the garage and my name was up on a little board with my car assignment. Make sure you book with your express number and check in online.

As long as your Express number is indicated on your reservation, you do not need to use online check in. Just head to the garage and find your name on the board. I just returned from a trip and my name said "See Agent" on the board. The agent directed me to a row of cars from which I could choose and took a card that was hanging from the rear view mirror once I selected the car.

If you arrive after 11:00 PM, you need to wait in line at the counter in the terminal because the Express booth in the garage closes. (I have read sometimes it stays open a little later but I have always found it closed even a few minutes after 11:00.)
