Dollar Car Rentals ?

When collecting a Dollar car from Sanford last year, I requested to return the car back with a full tank of fuel. (To try to avoid high fuel charges) I was told by the sales person that the Dollar policy had changed and that I should return the car with an empty tank. Has anyone else had this happen ? and is this true?. this year I will be collecting a Dollar car from Orlando International.
Also, I have heard of people who have registered with Dollar Express, to avoid long queues. When I have check this on the Dollar web site, it asked for company details, as well as personal details. Is this only for business use?
Has any other DISers used this for personal use ?

We always add Platimum cover varies a lot with the class of car you are having and how long for but for eg. 4 nights rental in Las Vegas to add platinum cost an extra £9 which gives us full tank of fuel and any driver.
We only ever use 1 driver (me) but for the cost of platinum cover we always add DW for emergencies.
Doing it this way we always take back the car empty.
If you rent direct form Dollar I think then you have other options. I guess if they are telling you to take it back empty then you have prepaid for the fuel in your rental price. But check its not just a play to overcharge you on return. If they are going to charge you on return there is nothing to stop you filling up on way to airport.
Dollar express is available to anyone we have used it no problems, great service, saved us 1 hour at Easter.

The car was booked with our accomodation via Virgin. Last year, the documentation showed that we had been charged approx 50c per gallon above local pump prices, This was charged to my credit card when I collected the card.

With Virgin, we have always had option to take back full or paid for Platinum and take back empty.Surely the cant make you pay their price for fuel. Glad its never happened to me, it would be the last time I hired from them.

We rented from Dollar last Xmas and was able to return the car full. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

If you do decide to take the car back full make sure you get a reciept from the garrage, I have heard of them demanding a reciept to show you filled up at a local garrage.

We have joined Dollar Express after waiting more than an hour in the normal line at Orlando last year. All the time we were there the Express lane was empty but they wouldn't let anyone else use it.
Next year will be different. We have the card ready and waiting in our Florida folder and I'm thoroughly expecting all the green eyes to come shooting my way when we 'jump' the queue.

No we used it no problems at Easter and I had DW as additional driver.

You can only use the express lane if you have registered and have the credit card sized membership card.

The number of drivers isn't an issue.
