Dollar car hire

We have booked with TCD and are flying out Dec 1st. Car hire is included with Dollar. Previously we have used Alamo and found them to be excellent, we had a free upgrade because there were no economy cars left. Can anyone tell me what Dollar is like?

Dollar was apsolutly fine, we got upgraded twice because our car wasn't ready, The only downside was that they didnt give us any Instructions with the car, So we just had to take a little while getting used to the car, But apart from that it was fine

I have used both, and to be honest prefer Dollar!

Always use Dollar and never had any real problems.

Find the service better if you book through Virgin Holidays as they have a seperate area for VH customers when you queue to sort out the paperwork etc within the airport.

To be honest we have always had the option of instructions on controls of the car etc, maybe it depends on how friendly the attendant is.

we have used both alamo and dollar, and we prefer dollar.

I have used Dollar every time exept once we used Alamo, never again we were 24 hours without car at Xmas, OK they paid for us a taxi to ASM and back but still if you prebook you should have a car.
Just got back for Disneyland CA. today used Dollar there at LAX. The member of staff I got was great until I would not accept his hard sell for an upgrade. I had full size and do not like 4 wheel drives or really big cars so full size is my limit. His attitude totally changed when i insisted I did not want upgrade.
Never a problem in Florida.

Used both Alamo and Dollar, with our own insurance, with no problems

No real preference except that we got to choose our car with Alamo

I perfer Dollar to Alamo- they seem a lot less pushy with their insurance sales pitch- but to be honest Id choose either of them again.
