Blimey, I just thought I would take a look at getting our car booked for August :scared1:

We book with Dollar mostly and use DE..... We have got quite picky about the car we have and have managed to sort a Chevy Traverse with Dollar for our last few trips and so we stick with them as their prices have been there or thereabouts. We paid around £808 for just under 4 weeks....

Just been on to get a price for August (27 days) and it is around the £1100 mark :scared1::scared1: Bloomin eck :scared1:

I have noticed that Hertz offer a Traverse but I don't find their website too clear on exactly what cover/fuel etc is included :confused3

I didn't book with Dollar until 3 months before our last August trip, do prices normally come down at all or do I need to get looking around :confused3

Thanks.

It varies with dollar rate i have found

We ot a ood rate with netflights last year thanks to wayne. Try the brokers as i find them cheaper than direct

I found some good Dollar prices for Oct recently but August their peices are stupid. What dates you want?
Hertz.co.uk include all insurances but not gas, AA CDP 504335 for 10% off. & Quidco 6%

Many thanks for the replies....

Our dates are collecting on the 5th Aug and dropping off on the 31st...

I had read another post recently with the Hertz discount codes and also using Quidco, so thank you for that, will use them if we go with Hertz.....

I'm just a bit gutted as we have found DE brilliant for all our most recent trips, we have always had a good service and got the exact car we wanted through Dollar and I DON'T LIKE CHANGE :lmao::rotfl:

I might just have to let go of the control freak in me :rotfl: throw caution to the wind and book elsewhere :rotfl:

Hertz seems about the best deal.
Last time I booked Jeep Grand Cherokee or Similar I got a Traverse but you could end up with any SUV (at £682.67 with Carhire3000) but Hertz is a similar price with code & cashback.

Thanks Wayne, I appreciate your help :goodvibes

Two more questions then....

Do Hertz offer a similar 'service' as Dollar Express?

Any chance Dollar's prices will become more realistic before August?

Thanks :thumbsup2

The best prices I've found so far for car hire have been with CarHire3000. Haven't looked fully into what is/isn't covered but got a quote for full size for 20 days in August at £409 which I thought was pretty reasonable.

Thanks guys :goodvibes

Decision made, booked with Hertz.....

Used the code which brought the price down to £755 - plus 6% cashback through Quidco - huge thanks Wayne :thumbsup2

I will not check the prices again now and lets see how we get on with Hertz :rolleyes1

Thank you :goodvibes

We used Hertz last time and everything was fine :) We had mainly used Dollar in the past so I was pleased it went without a hitch.

Good to hear :thumbsup2 Thanks.

Looks like I can do 'online checkin' with them, will investigate further at some point.

Wish I could be a bit more patient but once I start to check prices etc i just want to get it booked :lmao:

Really pleased with the price and that's the main thing :thumbsup2
