Dole Whip overrated!

Now.... Before I get torn apart on here I do think that the Dole Whip is very good. But its almost like there is a Dole Whip cult or something....I just dont get the hype.......the pot roast mac n cheese from Friars Nook on the other hand.....

completely agree.
dole whip is "ok" in my opinion but nothing to write home about.
my mom was an RN for 40yrs and we could get dole whip at the hospital cafeteria if we wanted to so it was not a big deal.

i like treats you can only get in disney world like tie-dye cheesecake from POP or strawberry cream cheese cupcake at BOG.

I'm right with you, we tried one for the first time a couple of years back at MK, and were not impressed. Now that pot roast mac n cheese has my interest piqued, I will have to try that!

I think it's one of those things that ends up being disappointing even if you think it's good because a lot of people go crazy-pants over it.

NOW I did find myself enjoying the one at AK with rum!

DD enjoys the Mac & Cheese at Friar's but I don't eat that kind of Mac & Cheese, although I tried Columbia Harbor House with lobster and shrimp.

I skipped the dole whip and went straight for the hard stuff. Poor guy sitting across from me ogling it and asked what it was. He said he wished he could have one but was diabetic and it was tooooo much for him. It was so hard to keep from saying "nah go for it, all the cool kids are doing it"

After hearing my friends hype it up so much, I was disappointed when I first had it at DL. It was just "okay," good but nothing special.
Then I moved to Hawaii and had it again at the Dole Plantation and it was amazing!! Not sure if it's actually any different.
Looking forward to trying it at WDW, hope it won't disappoint.

I agree with you. I like Dole Whips I just prefer other snacks I agree that the Dole whip is better at Dole plantation in Hawaii than WDW. Not sure why?

Wonder if this could be a sweet vs savory & salty kind of thing. Some love the sweet. Some crave the savory. I thought the Dole Whip was OK. But that pot roast mac n cheese sounds really good

I love the Pineapple Dole Whip, but I did find the flavor could get over powering.. so I tried the pineapple/vanilla swirl and it's PERFECTION. I am not a vanilla fan, but the vanilla cuts down the pineapple and really makes the whip refreshing.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like it! We got a dole whip float and the juice was so warm it was disgusting. Maybe if it was cold it would have been better, but that was the first and last time we had one!

I liked the float quite a bit. So many of these vacation food affections are based on wonderful memories. I am nuts over the elephant cupcake at AK. On it's own I'd probably think it was just good but the memory of sharing it with my kids and the fun we had..make it something I MUST DO and can't wait for.

After having to wait in a very long line on an August day to try it, I will say I did enjoy the float, but not enough to stand in that kind of line again for another one.
