Dole Whip is a Dish Best Served Cold. A Sept PTR- 10/2 - TR POSTED!

I just found your PTR & would love to join along! I mean really, can I come with? :rotfl2: sounds like you have 3 great trips on the horizon! I have to tell you that YC is my favorite resort! :sail: Don't get me wrong though, I'd gladly stay at BC, but YC is awesome! Our last trip I wanted to return to YC, but it was booked & we stayed at BC & had a great time. You will love staying in the Epcot Area, there's so much to do & places to dine!
:welcome: to my PRE trip report! Glad to have you here too! :goodvibes
It's always so nice to hear about all the folks who love the YC. I mean, I know you can't go wrong with any of the Epcot area resorts, but YC just looks so especially gorgeous. I'm way too excited for a trip that's way too far away! :lmao:

I'm here to offer sincere apologies for appearing to abandon this PTR. I promise I have not! I'm about three updates away from finishing off my TR and once that's done I'll have all my attention here. Also, I'll be honest, not much has happened for this trip lately. Mostly we just keep talking about Yacht Club 2015. :rotfl:

One little unrelated piece of good news -- I sold a piece at the art show! My Little Rainbow Ponies:

(The top one)

Those silly ponies have now sold 5 copies plus the original. I guess you never can predict anything when it comes to art!

Anyway, I'll be back and talking about plans before you know it. In the meantime, I'm going to wrap up my November trip report!

Those sillie ponies brought you some money...very, very nice!

Don't rush on this; I'm leaving and won't be able to read for 9 days. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Congrats on selling the picture! That is awesome!

Hi! I'm earning my ears and stumbled across your PTR and I absolutely love it! I'm also already planning my Nov. 2015 trip- I may or may not have planned my wedding date with the purposes of an early Nov Disneymoon :rolleyes1

Anyways, your big family trip looks amazing and I'm so excited for it to unfold! You're so lucky to get to see AK and BOG. Seriously, they were a gleam in the Imagineers hearts the last time I was at WDW.

At least staying off-site will make it a little healthier, yah? Get some grey stuff for me! pixiedust:

Whoop whoop on selling your painting of the silly ponies! ;)

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip whenever you are able to post. Life seems to get in the way ha ha! :goodvibes

Thank you! My ponies are my big surprise seller.

Hello there, and :welcome: -- both to my PTR and to posting on the Dis in general! I had a November Disneymoon too, totally magical, I highly recommend. :thumbsup2

It does sound fun... it's definitely a different way of doing things for us! Wow, you're definitely due to get back! ;)

Could be! Mmmm grey stuff!

Yay Rainbow Ponies!!!! Totally not surprising though :goodvibes:goodvibes
I'm surprised. Don't know why, I shouldn't be after so many have sold, but I was surprised anyway. Happy though!!

I absolutely love that painting so I am not at all surprised you sold it plus copies. Good for you! That is awesome! There is something so precious and so eye catching about it! Congrats on your success. That is going to sell a lot more. You'll see!

Hehehe my silly little Rainbow Ponies just keep surprising me.
AHh life is hectic. In a good way though, just been outside enjoying the weather a lot really!

Yay for the silly ponies!!! :goodvibes
Hehehe my ponies. They're just too funny and keep surprising me!

It sounds like you had an awesome art show! Was this in your home town?
It was great! Yes, well, very close to it. It's about a half hour from where I live, but very close to the actual town I am closest to and work in.

Aww thanks, Mary Ellen!! I never really gave it a second thought as something worth selling or even showing, but I was wrong about that one. It's fun to see what other people like when it comes to art, it's so personal. Thanks for the vote of confidence too!!

Two small (but relevant) pieces of news.

One good, one not so good.

Bad news first: Possibility on the horizon of this trip being cancelled.

Before you break out with the "Oh no!" or "I'm so sorry!" hear me out fully.

As you know, this was never really the trip I wanted it to be. I didn't much want to stay offsite, I wanted more Disney time than was being planned, not fond of the idea of driving 45+ minutes to the parks, etc. I only agreed because (A) my MIL guilted us into it and (B) it was the only dose of Disney I would get this year. I was trying to be excited about it but the truth is, I never really was.

Johnny's work is pretty slow at the moment and he's one of the few guys still working around here. It's a precarious situation and his Step Father, who is also his boss, was thinking that taking three weeks vacation might be too much (two for Germany in July and one in September for Orlando. He didn't realize Germany was two weeks when Johnny first brought it up) He has to talk to the next higher up boss and see what he thinks. There's a good chance he won't end up getting the time off easily. Depending on how easy it is to get our AirMiles back from our trip insurance, we might end up cancelling it.

We are totally ok with this.

Money is going to be really tight this year with two trips so we don't want to spend any on a trip that neither of us can get too excited about. The real test was when he told me this... and we both felt, of all things, relieved! It means a full two years between Disney trips, but that just means we will be all the more excited to get back! It means a lot longer until I get to see all the new things I was excited to see (Mine Train, new Harry Potter section, FotLK, etc.)

This isn't for sure yet, just a possibility at this point. We're keeping an eye on it.

Now, for the good news!

Maybe good news.

My parents finally heard back from their vacation package people. Apparently the never received the email. How convenient. (Although my Dad is tech challenged, so I guess it's possible.)

They got a call from someone really high up in the company who promised to make it right. No, they won't get their money back, but this person basically promised to get them any hotel they wanted any time they wanted it to make the package work the way they were initially told it would work.

When they asked about Disney for us next year, the manager person said to give him or her (my parents never used a pronoun! I don't know which it was!) the dates and resort we wanted as soon as possible, and that they would make it happen. So we are in the process of working on nailing down our November 2015 dates and then leave it in their hands. As of now our wishlist for resorts goes:

1. Beach Club Villas
2. Boardwalk Villas
3. Bay Lake Tower

I'll keep you posted on how that works out. My hopes and expectations are not high, but I'll give them a shot at it.

So that's it for now! I'll also keep you posted about this year's trip and how things are working out there. I'd like to have a final answer on it as soon as possible because if it turns out we are still going, I have a lot more planning to do!

Wow - those are some serious changes to your upcoming plan, but it sounds like you are pretty flexible with everything and that's the key. It would be awesome to get those resorts. I know it can happen every once in awhile. On the other hand, if those don't work I'm sure you could trade for OKW or SSR. Having just been at OKW, but very close to SSR, I realized how much I love it there as well. It's so pretty and nice for walking/running.

Anyway - keep us posted. Curious to see how everything shakes out!

Wow, major changes but it sounds like you guys are doing the grown up thing. Hopefully the vacation package people follow through!

I just found this PTR and have been reading all of your posts... I'm sorry about the trip not working out, but like you said, it's better if your heart is fully into it! I totally understand how it is to want to do a trip your way, the way you really want to! :)

That said: the Germany trip sounds really exciting!!! And that's really cool that you're meeting up with an exchange student you knew 10 years ago! :)

Yep, some instability on the horizon but it's all ok with us. Whatever works out we will just roll with it!
SSR would probably be the next one on my list, it looks so beautiful!
I will definitely keep you in the loop!

It's a possibility of a big change for sure, right now we're just going to take it as it comes!
I'm hopeful that the vacation package works out, but maybe not really expecting it to.

:welcome: I'm sorry to have the possibility of bad news just as you join, but nothing is for sure just yet.
I'm very excited for Germany! Caro lived with us and we have kept in close contact ever since. She even came home to stand in my wedding.

Hi again!

Yeah, still no more news on the trip. It's still a will they/won't they question.

But!

I know that some of you were interested in seeing some of my paintings and so I'm going to get a little braggy here and post this:
