i'm committed. really committed. i'm bigger then i've ever been, heavier then all but one friend of mine. i'm HOT, uncomfortable, don't fit into my clothes, get winded just climbing the steps to go to bed.

it's time for major changes.

i've lost over 70 pounds on atkins before, i remember LOVING that way of eating. i remember being 'nearly' in a size 10. even bought the size 10 clothes but never really made it in. so i saved them... and saved them... lucky for me they are still in style!:banana:

i've stocked the house with veggies and proteins. i'm not doing atkins the way they portray it on TV, not going to eat 14 bacon cheeseburgers without the bun. i'll eat fish and chicken, red meat occasionally, tons of salads, steamed veggies. oh and eggs and cheese, great for making you feel full and satisfied.

here's the hard part... the number... THE number... 242.

here's the light at the end of the tunnel... 155

off to boil more eggs... W.I.S.H. me luck!

It sounds like you are motivated and that you have a plan, that is the important first steps in putting it into action. Don't be discouraged by the numbers, they can be intimadating. Take it one step at a time, baby steps, say 5 pounds at a time. If you work in 5 or 10 pound increments it doesn't seem so overwhelming. I once weighed 220 pounds, so I know how the journey can seem impossible, but it isn't, you can do this. What I learned over the years is if you REALLY want this and you are REALLY committed, YOU CAN SUCCEED!

i'm proud of you...saying that out loud took alot of courage. and we are here to encourage you and hold you accountable! we are having a biggest loser challenge right now (see sticky at top of main board) maybe that would help you jumpstart your commitment?? PM me if you decide you want to join in. we aren't intense like the show, it's friendly challenge :teeth:

beyond that there are monthly challenges you are more than welcome to join in on any thread that seems like it's up your alley. I believe there is an Atkins support group thread too, or start a new one if it fizzled? whatever you decide, i know you will be successful WISHing those pounds away!

now, go put your WISH clipart in your signature (found at the very bottom of the smilies) to remind yourself of your new healthy lifestyle every time you log in :wave:
 
Good for you for re-committing yourself to doing something good for you and your health. I am right here with you with lots of weight to lose, having just started (again) on a very long journey that I hope will lead to success and long-term good health. The folks here on WISH are very encouraging and many have been where we are, so it is great to come here and post, read and share the struggle.

I have started a journal here on WISH, and although I have only been writing in it for a few days, it really seems to help me be accountable for what I eat (or don't eat) and how my behavior impacts my health. Many WISH'ers are generous with their time and thoughts in reading and posting to the journals, and it is truly a huge help for me - you might want to think about doing that if it appeals to you!

Thanks everyone for your kind replies. i've been VERY good this first week. i've walked a few nights, once getting caught in a BIG rain storm!

and the scale tells me i've lost..... 7 pounds!!! shhh, don't tell me it's water weight.. cause i *know* it's all fat!! lol.. either way, i'm glad to see the scale going down for the first time in a long time!
