I need your experiences here please. My sweeties will almost be 3 during our trip and I have a feeling we will be in undies by then. The time is getting closer as I am seeing the signs of no more diapers, but scared about Disney now:scared:

I'm stressing about the exact same thing. :scared1: My dd will turn 3 during our trip to WDW this fall, and she is just now in the process of being potty-trained, if you know what I mean!

By the way, I just finished reading your wonderful trip report that featured your stay in the Cinderella Suite. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the experience with us!!

Both my children were just out of pull-ups at Disney and they did great. We just took extra potty breaks and always went and tryed before we would get on any lines. Most people (and I stress most) are quite understanding if you need to rush out! Good luck on the training!!!

We literally potty trained 2 weeks before we went! since we drove, we did take one of her little potties in the car and to use in the hotel. We took extra potty breaks and made her go anytime we all went. She never had a single accident there!

Just take a ziplock with a change of clothes in your bag with you to the parks. We had one accident ... the ziplock was handy for the wet clothes.

We trained DD right before our 2006 trip. She didn't have an accident the entire trip. We put pullups on at night and on the plane. At the parks, she wore undies. Since we were fresh from training her, we still were paying close attention to making sure that she had frequent potty breaks. Definately bring a change of clothes in a ziploc baggie just in case.

My mom always said that she couldn't potty train me until she took my to Disney! This was in the 70s and she was horrified that I was three and wouldn't cooperate until we got to Disney and she said she visited every bathroom in the park!

I think as long as you plan ahead (go to the bathroom in regular intervals before it's an emergency) you'll be fine. I second the recommendation of a ziploc bag with extra clothes. Some people have found post-it notes to put over the sensor helpful so your little one doesn't feel flushed away. And I would bring pull-ups or diapers for night: I did that for a long time even when they were night trained because they are extra tired on vacation.

By the way, my sister was potty trained on her first airplane trip! Little kids love strange potties!

We are in a similar situation. My DD is 2.5 and has been in Underwear for 4 weeks. She is doing great, but I am terrified.

So to ease my worries.. well and my DH we are going to be putting her in pullups in the park with Underwear over them. So just in case she has an accident we are ok.

I still plan to take potty breaks frequently in hopes that the pullups were just to ease mommies worries.

She understands that she needs to pee in potty. We live next to Disneyland and she goes in the potty all the time. Just not being close to home I am afraid we will have some regression.

Thanks for the advice. I'm just so scared for some reason. I love the ziplock idea..think I will be packing a couple for each day (per child) We have 4 1/2 months so if I attempt the training very soon that should be enough time, right:scared1: You see, it has been quite a few years since we went thru this with big brother and he was a chore to potty train.

So happy you enjoyed it! I see you are staying at SOG:thumbsup2 I think I remember seeing your posts on that thread. Want to trade homes...Oahu for Mississippi:laughing:

Thanks so much for everyone's responses! I, too, just started potty training my DD2. I was debating if I should wait until after our trip but my DD decided for herself! I am so glad that people have been able to do it, it's very reassuring!:yay:

we are in the same boat as you

My DS potty trained two days before we were driving from NJ to disney. I seriously wanted to put it off and tell him not to worry about it until we got back, but he HAD to be trained for preschool which was 2 weeks after we returned.

He did GREAT. Not a single accident. I did put pull-ups on him for the car ride over his underwear (he insisted he still wanted his big boy undies) but he never used the pullup.

It's been my experience with my 3 kids, that when they decide they are ready and they are going to do it, they are ready and very few accidents will happen.

Bring changes of clothes and ziplocs, or if your little one is still having alot of accidents you could try putting a pull-up over their undies if they will allow it as a 'just in case'.

Have fun!

You see, it has been quite a few years since we went thru this with big brother and he was a chore to potty train.

My youngest wouldn't even consider using the potty until three months after his third birthday. But the day he did, that was it. He never once wet his pants after that day. Not during the day-not at night. I guess he was finally ready.
