Hello, we will be at the resort on April 25th a Tuesday. Crowds are supposed to be on the lower end of spectrum. We are thinking of trying a Hopper pass for one day and try to do both parks. We feel that with some much under construction at CA and with fastpass , if we go from open to close we could be able to do this. Possible? also how does fastpass work from park to park, seems to be only 4 or 5 big attractions going at CA and the hours are 9am to 10pm Thanks.

You can definitely do it, but you might not be able to get on every attraction. It would be helpful to do some research and make a list of the things you want to prioritize in both parks.

In terms of Fastpass, I would recommend buying the Max Pass for the day. It's $10 per day, per person. You can buy it on the Disneyland app and link it to your tickets. Max Pass allows you to book Fastpasses from your phone, rather than having to actually go to the machine in front of the attraction. It will also allow you to book between the two parks. For example, if you're at Disneyland, you will be able to book a Fastpass at California Adventure before you hop over there. If you use the regular paper Fastpasses, you would have to physically be in the park before you can pull a Fastpass. If you're only spending one day, watch your Max Pass schedule carefully,. The app will tell you when you are eligible to book another Fastpass. Keep booking them as soon as your window opens so that you can maximize your time. Also, keep an eye on the return times for the more popular attractions. Radiator Springs Racers and Guardians of the Galaxy, for example, tend to run out of Fastpasses faster than other attractions. You want to make sure you get them booked before they run out.

Definitely a good plan. You can knock out DCA in about 3-4 hours if you have Max Pass and stick to the major rides.

Don't try to do this without MaxPass.

It can be done..like other people said, you won't be able to do everything in one day. I would even say that maxpass is a necessity for this sort of ticket! I did it before the maxpass days and had a hard time getting through things. I would also recommend checking the calendar to see what side has magic hour so know what side to begin on.

It depends a bit on your group. If you have only teens and adults and you plan to skip kiddie rides and some dark rides, that helps a lot. Also if you're focused only on rides and will skip shows, sit-down meals and other activities. You obviously can't do everything but if you have clear priorities and your group all has the same interests, you can see a lot in a day. Where it gets tricky is if you have a mixed group - a teen who wants thrill rides, a toddler who can't ride most rides, someone who really wants a nice table service dinner, someone who wants to shop - if that's your situation you may have to either split up or have everyone make sacrifices. But the fact that you're talking about going open to close and looking at headliners makes me guess you don't have young kids with you and are ride-focused, so that should work out pretty well.
