Doing BB and TL -- is SAB needed?

ON our next trip, I was really hoping to finally stay at "home" (BWV) for the first time. Kids were excited about this idea too... and then they caught a look at SAB. I have no problem with the idea of staying at BCV... I just kinda wanted to try home (and maybe get a std view and stay a few more nights? :) )

SO here's the thing -- we know we're going to do both TL and BB on our next visit. We also know we're pool hopping one day to GF after a Pirate cruise. And BWV does have Luna Park, which they love. Is SAB really going to be worth it for the extra pts? By my calculation, we would have 1 day there, and a few evenings, out of our 10 day stay (if we go BWV, and can get std view, we can probably stay in a 2br for 12 days). Also -- I like my "pool day" to be relaxed (not chasing kids all over creation and worried about where they are). If SAB is like one big water park, am I going to have that? Discussions on another thread led me to believe the sprawling nature of SAB makes it very hard to keep track of kids as they go to the slide, for example. In Luna Park, however (which we have hopped to a few times) it was very easy to see all 3 of my kids at once). Kids will be aged 9,8, and 4 on this next visit.

All opinions welcomed.

Thanks!

Cindy

Don't worry about it. What kids see in pictures and what they really want when they get to WDW can be two different things. Two water parks, Luna Park and possible pool hopping to other resorts....I don't think they'll be deprived if they don't get to SAB. ;)

I agree with PamOKW;) Plus, I'd rather get the extra days by staying at BWV's than cut my vacation time down just because of the pool. Sounds like your kids will have a great time either way - so I'd say go for BWV's. Just my opinion though:D

I have thought before that SAB is hard to watch kids at. I ahve one that swims and the other does not. If I was alone I couldn't do it. It is not the type of plave you could lay out and relax at until your kids are much older. JMHO :)

I may be the only person, but I was underwhelmed by SAB. My husband and I were planning on staying at the BCV just for that. Then I went on a weekend trip with my mom and stayed there. I walked into SAB all excited..but unfortunately didn't think it anything special.
Cam ehome and told DH that there was no reason to spend extra points for that. LOL
Stay at the BW, unless YOU want to stay at the BCV, your kids will be happy there, it's great!

I, too, was a bit underwhelmed with my SAB experience. Don't get me wrong, I think it is an INCREDIBLE pool, but even during off season, it was packed by 10:00 and stayed that way until closing. Seats were hard to come by unless you arrived right at opening, and for us (just adults) it wasn't very relaxing. While we were in the water, of course, it was nice and not too crowded. It was more the sitting areas that become overly congested. For us, pool time is more about relaxation and peacefulness. We actually prefer the quiet pools at most of the resorts, especially VWL which has a beautiful quiet pool with spa.

I agree with the other posters: if you are doing 2 water parks, plus pool hopping, the kids will get plenty of great swim time, so I wouldn't see SAB as being a requirement for your trip.

You can Ditto that for me. I like Luna Park better. Personal preference I guess. Thank God we have that option with DVC!

how about on your last night - go to BCV - for just that one night - I know alot of folks hate to change resort - but in this situation I think it might work - then everyone is happy.

yes I know I like the standard view at BWV too.
