Doing 12 days of Disney dining with gc & TiW. Updated 4/24 Pop and Rainforest Cafe

Ok I have a question for all reading. The next reviews coming up are from Margarittaville. Do you want those or should I skip to the next Disney review. I have pictures of the Margarittaville dinner.

Our next table service is a first for DS and I. We have never went to a character breakfast. DS loves Stitch and I love Ohana so it was a win win for me. We had a ADR at 10:45 which I tried to change since we were going to US/IOA today after the meal but nothing was available. When we arrived they took our picture and gave us a buzzer that immediately went off. We were served bread as we sat down. It was a delicious cinnamon roll bread. I loved it.

We were then served the juice they serve. Please forgive me if you have had it and like it but it was the nastiest juice I have ever tasted. My DS did not like it either. We ordered sodas instead.

156-5.jpg

Next came the fruit. I ate the watermelon and grapes. I am not fond of pineapple. It was fresh and was good.

157-5.jpg

Next came the eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, and waffles. I liked the eggs, bacon, biscuits, and waffles. After eating at the potatoes the day before at the Pizzafari I knew I didn't want the potatoes or sausage.

The characters were coming around during the meal and my son could not keep his eyes open for anything :lmao:

And now the entire reason my son wanted to come to this breakfast. It was worth it because Stitch made the pictures funny with his poses. Like with mine he is holding up my ponytail behind my head.

We headed to US/IOA. We were planning on having lunch at Margarittaville and then head back to MK for late hours. Well this was messed up by this event here:

See how excited I am to meet wrestlers that I have no idea who they are! We were ushered into a live taping of TNA wrestling where I had to ask who most of the people were. DS actually kept his eyes open for his new fave Knockout (as they are called)

298-1.jpg

Now remember we had breakfast at 11 am. We were actually on the way to Margarittaville when we went in. I was staving by the time it was over. We had a little wait at Margarittaville. It was about 10 when we were seated. I ordered the Taco Salad which was a Crisp tortilla shell filled with mixed greens, black bean and corn salsa, mixed cheese, guacamole, sour cream and fire-roasted tomato salsa topped with their own taco meat blend and DS ordered the Volcano Nachos which were topped with chili, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos, tomatoes and scallions. He took one bite and almost choked so they went back to the resort where he ate on them for a few days. I liked his nachos better than my taco salad.

Thank you for posting, I'm enjoying your reviews very much. I noticed both you and your son were able to keep your eyes open for the hot wrestling peops :) I'm looking forward to the rest of your reviews.

thanks for taking the time to post your photos too...
I havent been to the BD but maybe next trip ...
Thanks again

Wow those nachos are huge? What is on the bottom of the taco salad? I hope it wasn't grease.

I am really enjoying your posts. I really like how you have pictures of the food. It gives me an idea on new things to try. Especially the Beaches and Cream. It is on our to do list for our upcoming trip.

I noticed that too after I posted that my eyes were closed in some :lmao: In my defense I was laughing in the picture with Stitch. But yes Garrett Bishoff and Velvet Sky kept our eyes open and now I actually watch the show (well fast forward most of it to get to him  ) Thanks for reading :)

I think this was my second trip to BD. I love the Cobb salad. I think next time I am going to try MM though. I love trying new places. I love seeing pictures of food with the reviews. It helps me decide where to eat.

I am not sure what was on the bottom. It wasn't grease it was some kind of I guess dressing. It was the reason I didn't like the salad very much. I should have gotten my usual Cheeseburger in Paradise :goodvibes

Thanks for reading. That is why I read the reports with pictures becuase I want to see what I may be eating the next time I go. I enjoyed Beaches and Cream. Get a sundae it will be worth it!

You know how when you are looking for something you lost and never can find it? Then about a few weeks after you start something you find it. Well I looked down on my floor a few minutes ago and found the receipt for Coral Reef. I swear it was not there before :scared1: . Well anyway I went back and updated all saved so far prices. I was a little off :O)

Great pictures and reviews! I loved seeing the 'Ohana breakfast pictures. It is our "must do" character meal every trip. We love it there but I agree with you about that juice...blech

Cannot wait to read more. Thanks for taking the time to post them for all of us! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I loved the breakfast at Ohana too. I would eat every meal there if it wasn't so expensive :o). I hope to post more soon but apparently my pictures have been closed until the 20th >:(

Catching up!!

How gross about that hair! I didn't really care for that place either. Crazy how the TIW card seems to be changing your service, too. I could see some responding that way to a guaranteed tip though. :sad2:

I can't believe you didn't like the juice at Ohana! That was my favorite part! Just reading about it made me want some again. I actually went to the kitchen for some OJ. Not the same, but still so good.

Can't wait to read some more! popcorn::

I tried to like it! I swear I did :) I will try to update tomorrow night. I am still having issues with photobucket

Great reviews so far! Thanks for sharing. Your entree at Coral Reef looks good....making me potentially rearrange my plans for October (again! ;))

Loving these reviews! Coming out of lurkdom to thank you for taking the time to post these!

Oh the CR entree is still top 3 on my list. I just wish I had given it a chance before this trip. Thanks for reading.

Cool! I brought someone out of lurkdom! Thanks for reading. I will try to have the next day up tomorrow.

The day had come. I was at Disney for another history making day. Now since we had went to US/IOA and didn't get to bed until about 2 AM there was not way I was getting up for the 6 AM opening. We had an ADR for Crystal Palace for lunch at 2:30 PM so we made it to MK about 2:00. Now a little back story on this lunch. This was our second one that we have ever done. I don't like spending so much money on characters that I could see in the park. I use to call DS Pooh Bear as a baby so Pooh was one of his favorite characters. We had meet them all numerous times in several parks. All except for Piglet. I liked him and wanted to meet him. I did not know that I would meet him at DHS the day I went to RD. So anyway we went to the podium at 2:15. We were seated in less than five minutes. We had Mike S. for our server. I informed him that we had the TiW discount and he said "I need your card because we have to have the manager approve it" I was like ok here it is. I noticed that Piglet was near us but I could still get a plate. I sat down and started to eat when Mike brought me the check. I looked at DS like thinking is he for real? Not a good start to the famous Crystal Palace. Well before I could eat Piglet came up behind me.

Now here is the only picture of the food that I took.

325-1.jpg

The best thing about the food that I ate here were the mashed potatoes. I went back several times for more of them. Well with all the time I had to sit there and wait for the characters and the elusive Mike. There was almost a 45 minute time span in between the pictures of Piglet and Tigger. The restaurant was half empty so I am not sure why this was. The kicker of the entire service experience with Mike was that DS had an empty glass of soda for over 30 minutes and I finally got his attention and asked for refills and he said "what both of you?" I should have gotten the manager right then over his service. I know it know but Disney is my happy place so I just let it go for then. Tigger came by

Then Eeyore was almost to our table and went right past us to the next table. This was not turning out to be a great meal. I informed his handler that he skipped our table. So he came over and took pictures. I tried to give him my autograph book and he shook his head. I had pretty much had it with Crystal Palace after this.

DS said this was the worst meal and experience that he has ever had at WDW. I was not happy to hear that. I decided then and there not to tell the server anymore that we had TiW until after the check came. It was amazing the level of service that we got when they knew they already had the tip. Around came Pooh Bear and he made it worth all the trouble.

332-1.jpg

I had been given a email address to contact Disney concerning another issue not related to the food and decided that I would just deal with it in the email instead if talking to the manager since I was ready to get out of that place. In hindsight I should have spoken to the manager because Mike went home with my $9 tip that he clearly did not deserve.

When we left CP we walked around a little while and saw how crowded it was and decided to hop over to Epcot so I could get a drink. I needed one after the meal I just had. I went straight to the kiosk in France that sells Grey Goose slushies. It was great as usual but again I did not get a picture of it. We had reservations of Ohana for dinner at 9:40 PM. I had been there before and it was my favorite dinner. DS did not go the last time and was very excited to go this time. We checked in at 9:30 and was told there was a wait. Apparently WDW had a glitch in the system the day before and had overbooked all restaurants by about 90,000 ADRs. I took the opportunity to go get a drink that I had heard a former co-worker talk about a lot. I went to get a Lapu Lapu. I have never had dark rum before and am not much of a drinker while not at WDW and I did not like it. I sipped on it though most of dinner. I got this at 9:32 and we were not seated until 10:10. I was not upset since we met people from our city while waiting. They actually work at a store in the mall we go to a lot. So while DS had his mind blown by that (I was use to it as the year before I met someone at the resort who lived 5 minutes away from us). So here are all the awesome pictures of the food. Our server was Cousin Michael and he was assisted by Cousin Jasmine. The service was excellent.

During the meal I asked Michael if there was anything we could do about the drink that I spent $13 on and did not like. I just noticed that the bartender received a tip too so I should have gotten it at the table. Michael brought some more of the juice that went in the drink and it didn't help. We left Ohana's after 11:00. I took the drink to the bartender and asked if I could have a refund. He said no that he could make me something else. I got a pina coloda. We made it to the MK before midnight. They were still giving out OMDD pins. I had one mission and that was to get a picture of Flynn Ryder. I got it but how long would it take?

348-1.jpg

I waited in line for four hours for that picture. In front of me were CM on the CP and behind me were some too. Apparently the ones behind me did not like their roommate that was with them very much and complained every time she came and went. Now after two hours of this I was ready to tear my hair our. But I survived. After the picture we rode some rides and at about 5:30 I wanted a snack. I wanted a cream cheese pretzel and even in my exhausted state I remembered to take a picture!

349-1.jpg

It was delicious. So we survived OMDD and Ohana's now had beat out Coral Reef in my favorite dinner. It was DS' favorite also. He ate his weight in shrimp I think lol. I also wanted to say that after speaking with someone from Disney concerning the service at WCC and CP they sent me a gift card for $40. Again, next time I will get the manager so the issue will be settled there.
