Got my documents today for May 28 maiden voyage to Mexican Riviera. Don't know about anyone else....but I was dissappointed.
First of all...Disney could have at least change the little suitcase package since I am not going to the Bahamas or the Carribbean. Second... they could have changed the Passport to the Magic brochure to at least relate to Disneyland and not Disneyworld.
I guess for all the money we spent I just feel that Disney could have put a little more effort into the documents. Make us feel special!
What does everyone else think?
I am happy to see that the times for ports of call are later than most posts said earlier....Puerto Vallarta 9:45pm...Mazatlan 8pm

For a family of four, these cruises are costing about $1500 more than they should so at the very least, DCL should have spent some marketing $$ on changing the marketing materials. In 12 weeks approximately 36,000 people will have cruised on DCL to the Mexican Riviera...it's the least they could do. I could see if it was a special itinerary which they were only doing for one week - but this is 12 weeks, not to mention the two repo sailings. Hopefully this is not a sign of what's to come.........

pumba's mom-are the port arrival times the same as stated previously? Was there any mention as to the theme nights in your docs?

:guilty: I posted on the Cruise Meets board too...but I am very disappointed!
:sad2: Why couldn't they spend a little to make us excited about the Maiden Voyage, and about the new 12 "experiment"! Are they only willing to put money in to the project once they see it's a success? Doesn't seem real Disney-like...I am hoping this is not a hint at what we may experience on the cruise, or in the ports! :hourglass

Oh no, I was hoping they would dress the West Coast docs up a bit more than that. :sad2: I have only cruised with Disney once before, so I will still be excited to see the docs since they are done up a bit cuter than any other cruise docs I have received. I think you are right about the fact that the brochure should be on Disneyland instead of Disney World. Do you think that was on purpose to encourage us to follow the Magic back to Florida?
Also, if you have received your Docs, then they must know what they are doing with the theme nights. Maybe they aren't doing much different. I hope I am really really wrong about that.

The documents have NO mention of theme nights. So how do we pack?? I know that there will probably be a formal night, but how does someone who is cruising for the first time know that?
Port times are as follows:
Departure from CA 4pm
Puerto Vallarta 8am-9:45pm
Mazatlan 8am-8pm
Cabo San Lucas 7:30am-3:30pm

At least you HAVE docs. I am sailing NEXT WEEK and still not docs. I called Disney a few days ago and I was told that they are being printed soon. And then they will be sent to the TA, then to me. Well.... I'm driving down, so I'm leaving in a few days. WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR? I didn't get an upgrade or anything so I don't know what the hold up is all about. FRUSTRATING.

That surprises me as well but keep in mind that they gave everyone special blankets to commemorate the special sailings last year. Maybe DCL has concentrated on those kind of things to make the cruise itself special & didn't think of the fact that DISers would be anticipating the little things like the docs. Hope that you have a fantastic cruise!

Pumba's Mom come on over to the Cruise meet board. We have a great group of dissers going on the maiden voyage out of LA.

PS I agree. I was hoping for something different from Disney, but from everything I have read about Disney's lack of planning for the 50th anniversary doesn't surprise me.
