doh i just realised

urm i just realised that the day we come home is thanksgiving. could someone please shed some light on this time of year in orlando. is it busy? how busy? will i cry? last year we went in september and walked straight onto every ride. this suited us down to the ground. someone give me the bad news? anyone whos been over this period please tell me what its like.

You shouldn't find it too bad if you actually leave on Thanksgiving - that's always a Thursday, and it's the weekend following that that gets very busy since the Friday is a public holiday, and then you have the weekend.

I don't think you will notice much of a difference in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. We normally go around the 5th of Nov, come back at the beginning of Thanksgiving week, and have not noticed any build up of crowds. I don't think that the schools are off until the actual Thursday of Thanksgiving. So don't worry, and definitely don't cry!

We have done this period lots of times and love it! Thanksgiving Day itself is usually reasonably quiet as its a very "family" orientented day for the Americans and they usually hole up and have a big meal somewhere! We went to Sea World one year and the park was full of only Brits!!

The weekend after is fairly busy (but you will be gone by then, so no worries!!). Compared to Christmas and Easter though, the parks will still be moderate to quiet!!

As everyone else said the week before Thanksgiving is pretty quiet, its the weekend that is busy but to be honest Ive never found it that bad and if anything it adds more atmosphere.
