We are going to Disney in late July/early August, and have the Deluxe Dining Plan. What always ends up happening when my husband and I got out to eat with our 8yr old daughter, is she doesnt eat everything, and then later wants the food back. So, my question is: can you ask for a doggie bag to bring back to the hotel, and next, is it tacky to do so? I wouldnt do this all the time, but late dinners, I can definately see her asking for some food after getting back to the hotel, and then daddy trudging to the food court.
I can tell this plan has alot of food on it, but we just dont want to worry about not having enuf to eat (like i am doing right now). thanks for any advice!

Yep, you can take doggie bags. If it's tacky then we are tacky!;)

We almost always took our desserts to go. They were great to enjoy later during the fireworks or back at the room.

we took ziplock bags and we put the leftover fries, chicken, dessert etc in them. it was perfect in case our son wanted them later when we got back to the room.

Just be aware that many of the sit down restaurants with characters or entertainment of some sort are either buffet or All-You-Care-Eat (basically any meal with characters is this way plus the dinner shows plus 'Ohana)...so you most likely won't get anything there to take back to the hotel room (although some have reported being able to get a banana at CP for brekfast for instance)...

Also, everyone in your party gets 2 snack credits a day....most have on Deluxe have reported that they can't use all those snack credits, so you could always get her something with those :)

I've read numerous reports of people on DxDDP, and you definitely don't have to worry about "not having enuf to eat."

Try reading some reviews of people on the deluxe dining plan... there's a Dining Reviews section here on the Dis boards. I'm sure it will reassure you. (And excite you, especially in the reviews with the pictures! :goodvibes)

As for doggie bags, take dessert to go when you can. And what someone posted before, you'll have plenty of snack credits to use for a late night snack... just stop for a few snacks to store in your room for those instances your daughter might have, so your poor husband doesn't have to go hunt for goodies at the food court when he just wants to relax in the room after a long day in the parks!
