Hello,

We will bearriving at Disney tomorrow and I have 2 questions on I need help with.

1. A few years ago we were at Downtown Disney and in one of the stores was a machine where for a fee you could create a dog tag. They had all different types of disney tags that you make. At that time we made one that was a metal mickey mouse that we engraved with my son's name and phone number and his favorite dog stuffed animal wears it on his collar so if his stuffed dog is ever lost it has his name on it. Now I would like to get one made for our dog. Any ideas if these machines are still around and if so were are they located.

2. My 7 year old daughter wants her hair braided with all the little braids. Is there anywhere in Disney were we can get that done?

We will be staying at AKL, visiting Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Sea World, and Downtown Disney.

Any help with were I can find these with be appreciated.
Thanks so much everyone!!

Jen

As far as the dog tag thing, I know I've seen them in Epcot at the exit from Nemo and in the Land near the Garden Grill restaurant. Sorry I don't know any more than that!

Hopefully someone will be able to help you about the hair braiding thing!

I would be interested to know the answer to the braiding question as well. My daughter wants to have this done when we go in June.

Dog tags can be found in Once upon a toy where they have the Mr. Potato head at. There is a machine over by the lego johnny depp. Hair braiding station was at POR when we stayed there but that's the only place I know of. HTH.

You would need to confirm these but I saw them at CBR, outside beach club stormalong bay, DTD for sure theres a Kiosk, I thought at POTC in MK. POR for sure. Animal Kingdom had it near Island Mercantile.

P.S. Don't leave it in too long of the hair will become brittle and break (some people leave them in over a month and you may well lose that hair).
Also apply sun lotion where braid meets head - SUNBURN baby!

Dog tags can be found at many places....across from toy story mania and the store by honey I shrunk the kids playground is the first 2 that come to mind.

PS......I made a dog tag with my sons name on it and my husband and my cell phone numbers. DS wears it around his belt loops or his neck. He knows if he gets lost to show it to a CM or a policeman. I have used it at state fairs, parks, zoo's, branson, etc.

Hello! My girls outgrew the Bibbity Salon a few years ago so we started with the hair braiding as something special to have done at Disney.

The first time was at The Grand Floridian. Their salon is called Ivy Trellis. My girls were 8 and 7. My oldest was fine but my younger daughter cryed because they were quite tight. We only did the half head which was cheaper and since their hair was long enough, I could still put the back in ponies or my own braids. This salon only offered us the straight back rows.

The second time we went to the salon by Beach Club, its called Perriwig. They gave us the option of straight back rows or a diagonal pattern which I did like better. Again, just half head on both and with the girls now 9 and 8, there were no tears and loved them.

Here is the web address for the Niki Bryan Spa which operates all the salons and spas on site: http://www.relaxedyet.com/index.asp
You will be able to find all the salon locations as well as pricing. I recommend a reservation/appointment because the salons are small and usually only 2 people are there doing hair.

These are a couple of pictures from both times we had this done. I am happy to answer any additional questions!:thumbsup2

But this was just 10 short minutes later...ALL SMILES! This is the straight back braid and the girl in the middle is my Niece (15 at the time)

This was about 3 days later: a little fuzzy but still really nice!

I DO recommend sunscreen for the scalp in between the braids as it can burn easy!

I DO NOT agree that hair gets brittle / falls out.... I am sure it is a possibility but it was not a problem for either of my girls on the first or second trip.
We left them in for right around 10 days (they wanted to show friends at school when they came back!) and taking them out was fine. Now, these are 1/2 head braids and we took care to wash and pat dry each row.

Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks for sharing! Your daughter's hair looked great!! My daughter will be sooooo excited that I actually found a place to do this. She's been asking about it since she found out we were going back......

i am almost positive that we got our dog tag (with stitch on it!) at the gift shop at the ticket and transportation center. we had tried earlier in the day at the one by the garden grill, but it wasn't working. the ttc gift shop wasn't busy and no one was bumping into you while you made it. :goodvibes

We had dog tags made in the store by star tours in dhs and also in the store at the exit of test track.
