Hi all, My daughter has an opportunity to stay at someone's house for 2 weeks to watch their dog. Does anyone know the going rate for this? She does dogsit at times but only on a daily basis without staying over. She usually charges $20.00 each visit to the house as most of the time she has a 30 -40 min drive to get there. Thanks for any help.

I dogsat this summer twice for a couple. I stayed in their apartment. It was about a 30 minute drive from my house. My job is about 20 minutes in the opposite direction from my house so I had about a 45-50 minute drive to get to work (I had to leave at around 6:30 to beat rush hour so I could get to work at 8:30 and I didn't get back to the apartment until atleast 6 if traffic wasn't too bad). They had 3 dogs the first time. Unfortunately one passed before I came the second one, but they still paid me $30 a day. They were super easy dogs, though. Walk them a couple times a day, feed them. Very well behaved and very friendly. I basically did the same thing I did at home and wasn't there very much. They included the day I got there (even when i didn't get there until like 8 in the evening) and the day I left (even when I went to work and left at 6:30 to go to work so that was hardly a day).

DD did this a few years ago. Stayed at the house. There were 3 dogs and numerous cats.
I think she stayed for 9 days? I think she got 200-300 bucks (and she didn't have to buy any food, AND she was given gas money!).

We always have a dog sitter stay at our house when we're on vacation. I have a friend with two college aged sons. They argue about who "gets" to come stay with Sunny. :lmao: I pay $25 per day and I usually give an extra $25 because they do such a great job with her.

My professional sitter charges $65 per day for my two dogs. This is a service and they are licensed and bonded. Last summer, I used the college girl across the street and paid her $35 per day and she was very happy to get it.
