Hi all,
Yup, Shannone1 is correct. I just stayed there in Feb. and if you look along the main road next to the sidewalk you'll see a Disney marked paw print sign that shows you the path to the dog park. The path nor the signage or the dog park was explained to us upon check-in nor as it on the map they give you at check-in. So, we had to look for the signage and we knew where to look for the dog park near the playground at the 300 loop thanks to our friends here.
Now that said, my BT's wouldn't walk all the way from our site in the 800 loop over to the 300 loop and I am not carrying a 21 pound dog, so we probably won't be visiting the dog park. Pretty much you should plan on keeping your pet in your loop unless your loop is next to another pet loop. For instance, we stayed at 800 and their was a pet walk over to the 600 loop in the dog walk area along the canal so we did walk them over there. Also the 1600, 1700, 1800 and 1900 loops are pretty much connected also by a main road, so you could easily walk them around there as well. Just remember to be courtious by not walking through other people's sites (stick to the side of the road), pick up after your pet, keep them on a leash and only let them be walked by someone who can handle your pet (I can't tell you how many little kids I've seen lately that are being dragged around by a big dog) and don't let them near another pet unless you have spoken to the owners first and asked permission. I would also bring their shot record, for some stupid reason it's not required by the fort anymore, but just incase their is an issue I would think you'd wanna have all your ducks in a row so to speak. I don't even take my pets to our local home store without verifiaction that they have had all their shots.
Pets are pretty much not allowed anywhere expect the pet loops and the dog park. They are not allowed at the comfort station, campfire program, petting farm/barn area, gift shops (trading posts), Pioneer hall, boat docks, etc. Pretty much anywhere a non-pet person would be. LOL! Matter of fact, I have yet to find anywhere on Disney property that's not in the campground that allows pets either. Hope this helps....
