Doesn't everybody have Disney on speed dial? Seriously? Mickeystoontown does! 5/14

Lisa, your MK day sounds great!

"“get my butt wet” on Splash Mountain and then “walk around in droopy drawers" ... :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously made my day.

Great updates!!

Add me to the driving club. We are about 780 miles from Animal Kingdom Villas (Kidani). We are leaving on the 24th with 2 extra teenagers (my daughter's friends. They are celebrating their high school graduation). I am not sure how the 2 extra girls will travel but my daughter is a great travel. We love the drive down to Disney.

We are getting up real early on the 25th to finish the 3 hrs to Disney so the girls can go to Star Wars Weekend. I said after our last Star Wars Weekend trip in 2011 that was the last one after back to back trips. Well, the girls love Star Wars and since this is "their" trip we are heading back to Star Wars Weekend. Shhh. Don't tell them I booked Sci Fi Star Wars Breakfast!! THey will be so excited.

Opps.. Didn't mean to write a mini report in your report, Lisa!! Sorry!! :flower3:

Yay a PTR! That means a TR isn't too far away! I have to go back an catch up though! popcorn::

We overlap while we are there. We are going May 30-June 8. :thumbsup2

I am interested to hear how fast pass + worked out and what you think of it. Being that I go to Disneyland more frequently, I'm not up to date on FP+ info, so I'm curious about it.

We fly in on May 26, too (close to 30 hour drive from SD to FL, not happening). Our traditional first night is always at Epcot and our first ride is always Spaceship Earth. I did get FP for Epcot, but I'm hoping that the parks will empty out a little bit by Monday night (wishful thinking?) This is a high school graduation trip for my son and 3 of his best friends, too. Isn't it wonderful when our older teenagers still love Disney?

Coming back with replies. Spent the morning making...get this....are you ready?

Making changes to our first two park days' plans! Stop laughing! :rotfl2: Ya'll know that I can't help myself. :lmao: And, as pktbMouse pointed out, the 26th is Memorial Day and I didn't even realize it. What the freak-a-deek kinda planner am I? :rotfl: Add 6 more emails from Disney regarding my changing up of plans.

I'll tell ya'll more about it in a little bit. Gotta get some real work done before the boss starts bellowing and snorting fire. :furious:

103 reservation emails!?!? Hahaha wow, you certainly do a lot of changing! I've called disney three times in my whole life, so they're not on my speed dial, but I can see why they're on yours! Imagine a rotary phone for that?? :rotfl:
The MK day sounds good to me! (you know, assuming it doesn't change! :rotfl: )

HI this is great thread! You are very funny (and chatty) but that makes for a good report! I am happy you got the Wishes Dessert Party - I surprised my Hubs in 2012 with it and he was a happy guy that night! it's lots of fun and desserts are amazing.. thanks for sharing your pre trip with us.. Michelle

So what are you up to now? Like 109 emails? That's a bit crazy! Though I completely understand tweaking things until they feel just right! :goodvibes

Great updates! You sound like me with the ADR switching, but I got you beat...:) I have 130 e-mails with ressies and cancellations!! ::yes:: John with Splash Mountain reminds me of my husband. Our FP+ is at 7:15, then as soon as we ride, we have to leave cause he "ain't walkin around with wet drawers and shoes." :rotfl2: I can't believe we are getting so close! Enjoying the plans so far.

I'm catching up with ya...I changed things up this morning. LOL!!

Your hubby and John sound a lot alike. I don't mind rides where you get wet unless you get totally soaked. That's why we skip Kali over at AK.

Joining in on the fun! Loved stalking your last TR, so this time I will not be so shy!

Thanks for posting! No need to be shy! You can tell that we aren't. :lmao:

Okay, 1. I'm here and following. I don't think I've even BEEN to the Dis in like three or four years (which means my signature will be horribly outdated), but I downloaded the app so I can keep up because...

HEY! Wow, gone from the Dis for a long time weren't ya?

2. We're staying at CBR too and even though I've stayed there once it was a LONG time ago...before my kids were born. Which, of course, means my kids have never stayed there. Everyone else is staying at WL, but I can't afford that, so oh well. So I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff and getting tips.

I looked at WL and even with the discount, the cost was over $1,300 more. Couldn't make myself do it. I'm anxious to see how the boys are going to like the CBR. Hunter loves it!

3. Hunter is SEVENTEEN?!!! WHAT?!!!

I know! My baby ain't a baby any more.

4. What is the Wishes Dessert Party and what is the new ADR cancellation policy? All of the ADRs are in my name and have anywhere from 7-9 people so if stuff needs to be fixed I need to fix it now.

The dessert party takes place in Tomorrowland Noodle Station. We used to sit there years ago and watch Wishes from that same location. Guess Disney caught on and started charging for that privilege. You can book the party and are guaranteed a seat to watch Wishes AND you get to eat all of the desserts that you want while you do.

When making ADRs now, you have to put a credit card on file and if you don't show up for your ADR, they charge you $10 per person. And, if you cancel less than 24 (or is it 48 hours) prior to your scheduled ADR, you still get charged the $10 a person.

5. Give me the link to your eBay site. I always buy the backpacks when I get there with the current year on them, but I've realized when the next year comes I don't want to use them because they're outdated so that's a waste of money. I'll stick to just the dated scrapbook from now on. I'm not positive I'll buy on of yours but I'd like to look. If you can't post it here then you can message me on Facebook. K, I guess that's it...for now...;)

Did you see the backsacks that I posted on Facebook? That's where I post most of my pics. I've done so well there that I haven't even put any on Ebay in a long time.

QUOTE=jenseib;51197084]Wow!!! Thats one heck of a lot of changes! :rotfl2:
I am not a fan of the FP+ at all and it does seem to be affecting lines, sadly.[/QUOTE]

I've seen your posts about the new FP+ system and thought about you when making our FP decisions. Hopefully, they'll increase the number of FP that you can have in a day and that will eliminate some of the wait times.

May 26th your first day in the park is Memorial Day! your a brave soul lol Have you been on this day before?? is it not as bad as they say? just wondering as we planned this intentionally as a "quiet" day because of this..hmm

Shut the front door! I hadn't even realized that this was Memorial Day! Thanks for pointing it out 'cause we may have hit a brick wall of people although I'm betting that it would not have been as bad as the 24 hour party night.

Lisa, your MK day sounds great!

"“get my butt wet” on Splash Mountain and then “walk around in droopy drawers" ... :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously made my day.

Glad that I could make you laugh when you are probably crying about ya'll's weather right now.

No need to apologize! I love reading about other people's plans. Guess we need to keep our fingers crossed that the "extras" will be good at traveling.

We booked a Star Wars meal too AND it's a surprise too!

Oh, not to worry, DH MORE than made up for my share!

Well, then, at least you didn't totally waste the money spent there.

Yay a PTR! That means a TR isn't too far away! I have to go back an catch up though! popcorn::

Welcome! I forgot to look to see if you have a ticker. Where are you staying?

I am interested to hear how fast pass + worked out and what you think of it. Being that I go to Disneyland more frequently, I'm not up to date on FP+ info, so I'm curious about it.

I'm anxious and nervous and excited all rolled into one. Hopefully, the FP system will work for us. Thank goodness we have multiple days in the parks so if we miss something we can try to see it the next day.

We fly in on May 26, too (close to 30 hour drive from SD to FL, not happening). Our traditional first night is always at Epcot and our first ride is always Spaceship Earth. If you're doing some wishful thinking then so am I. Honestly, I've never really noticed a big change in park attendance/crowds on Memorial Day but maybe I've just been oblivious.

It sure is great that our kiddos still love Disney! Lacey & Jesse were bummed that they are missing out this year but there's always next trip.

Are you serious!?!? There's no way that I could get away with just three calls to Disney in my lifetime. I have called them three times in one day on occasion.

Wellllllllllllllll, did you see what I posted this morning? I changed something up.

Welcome! I'm glad that you are enjoying the read so far. Thanks so much for posting your thoughts on the dessert party. This will be our first time doing it.

So what are you up to now? Like 109 emails? That's a bit crazy! Though I completely understand tweaking things until they feel just right! :goodvibes

Yep, 109 emails! That doesn't include the ones where I made payments or asked questions.

Will 109 emails from Disney be enough or will I go for more?

I'm assuming that ya'll saw my short little post from this morning? Yep, after I read pktbmouse's post, I felt the need to do a little switcheroo. Oh if only it were as simply as "a little switcheroo". :faint:

Our first two days' plans have been, almost literally, flipped. I couldn't get Via Napoli at a decent time but I could get Coral Reef which we had scheduled on another Epcot day. Via Napoli was available on our original Coral Reef day though so I moved those around.

I was also able to get decent FP+ times for the attractions that I had chosen for our Magic Kingdom and Epcot days. And, I was able to get another Be Our Guest lunch ADR.

Anyway, the changes have been made. Remember those plans that I posted about Magic Kingdom being our first day? Well, make that our second park day. Our first day's plans are coming right up!

**Up next: This whole tier thing sucks! I’m not changing these plans even if you threaten to shoot me.

Hi Lisa,

I don't post very often on the dis but I have read all of your trip reports and I thoroughly enjoy them!!! i catch myself laughing out loud at my desk just from reading them . If I understand right, you are using your "free" days before your package starts? It is my understanding that you can pick up your park tickets that are part of your package a few days before you actually check in to your resort for your package and begin to use them. So if my disney math is correct, it would only be a few dollars to add 2 more days to your 12 day tickets and you can visit a park on your "free days" too. Since tickets expire after 14 days of the first use, you should be fine for your entire trip. Just a thought........I hope I didn't add to your ADRSA :rotfl2:

Welcome and thanks so much for posting! I've been known to laugh outloud at myself from time to time. :lmao:

I believe that you are thinking correctly. We actually talked about doing just that but ultimately decided that we'd like to rest a little on our first day. Yeah right, like we'll rest. ;) We'll probably have out behinds at DTD before we can blink our eyes.

This whole tier thing sucks! I’m not changing these plans even if you threaten to shoot me.

Do ya’ll believe in ghosts? Why do I ask? :confused3 Well, had I stuck to what I’d said in the title of this chapter, someone would have threatened to shoot me, I’d have refused and then I’d be the ghost writing this portion of my pre-trip report.

Ya’ll already know that I did, in fact, make some changes. Our first park day is now going to be spent at Epcot!

600-spaceship-earth3.jpg

I was able to keep our FP+ attractions virtually the same as I had them as of this morning. The new FP+ are:

Soarin’: 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Living with the Land: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Mission Space: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Epcot_soarin_sign.jpg

Living_with_the_Land_at_Epcot.jpg

Mission-Space-601x460.jpg

I sure wish that they’d give up the whole tier thing. It sucks not being able to have more than one major attraction in your FP line-up. :headache: At least we have two days at Epcot and I could choose Soarin’ for our first day and Test Track for our second. For those who only have one day, it would be a total bummer having to choose between the two headliners. :worried:

Lunch will probably be at The Electric Umbrella. I know! I know! We aren’t adventurous eaters though and we can usually find a place to sit and cool off.

After lunch, we’ll head towards World Showcase starting with Mexico first and work our way around until we end up in Canada. If we miss a country along the way, we’ll catch it the next time we are in Epcot. I am pretty sure that we’ll stop in Germany and pick up some goodies in the shop there. I mean, really, who can walk by the caramel shop and not buy something sweet to eat? Not I said the ADR switcher-arounder. :rotfl:

Because I couldn’t get Via Napoli for this night, I made an ADR at Coral Reef. Initially, we had Rose & Crown booked for our second Epcot day. But, it just didn’t “feel” right. We had eaten there in 2008 and weren’t impressed at all. The Rose & Crown reservation was kept for about a week before Coral Reef took it’s place.

Our Coral Reef ADR is not until 8:40 which will keep us from seeing Illuminations this night but it’ll be alright. We can see it another night.

**Up next: Our 1st off day includes a new restaurant and a big surprise!

I think we might be in Epcot same day. I hate the tiers there. I have a fast pass for TT so we will hit Soarin at rope drop. After that it really doesn't matter what you pick. We have VN for lunch I thinks it's the ressie I'm looking forward to the most. And I can't wait to get to the caramel shop in Germany I have been dreaming about that place.

ohh noooo LOL I made you change your plans AGAIN!! hahaha but if your anything like me they will probably change again before we go right? lol

LOL about all your changes, but you need to get what you want!

I don't like the tier system either. I hope they change that really quick. I can't wait to hear about how it went when you get back. I'm using your family as my guinea pigs before we go in September. :rotfl:

I'm really excited to try Coral Reef! We have a ressie for September. I'm glad you didn't have too much trouble switching things around!
