I've never been to a TH, but since someone mentioned donuts, I probably won't be going to one anytime soon.
But I have seen them in numerous restaurants. And I am happy about it. I've used them for my mother's and my own shots.
I have Celiac, so no baked goods or even sandwiches. Either way, I don't know that there is one anyone near me.I think donuts were how they started, but now they've branched into other stuff including sandwiches and baked goods. Kind of like Dunkin Donuts - many which seem to just called "Dunkin" now. They have some locations that are just donuts and pastries, but they have some rather large locations with a full menu.
Still - I'm not quite sure why having needle containers is such a big deal. It's pretty normal now. I've heard of restaurants that dealt with people injecting insulin and just tossing them in with the other waste.

I hated having to carry my mother's used needles home with us because there wasn't a container nearby.
A popular PA gas station that also offers a decent food menu also has changed over their restroom lights, for that very reason.
WaWa or bust! Sheetz? Booooo!Sheetz, I'm guessing? I suppose it's not all that surprising. Last time I visited PA, it seemed like every Sheetz had turned into the new late-night hangout spot.
Me either.Interesting. I have never seen any containers outside of a doctor's office.
Really? I never noticed. Maybe because I am not diabetic. I haven’t exactly been on the lookout for one. They have them in every restroom at Disney World.
Thankfully, they have them, in not in every, in almost every public bathroom at Disney. As best as I can recollect, I have never seen a sharps container outside of a health related setting. Not at a Starbucks, not at a McDonald's, not at a Walmart or Lowes or my office or anywhere. Then again, I've only been in a Tim Horton's once, and didn't go in the bathroom.

I see them in almost every public bathroom I visit in Southern CA. Disneyland has them in every bathroom...been this way for years. These have nothing to do with illegal drug use. They are there for people who need to inject prescription medications for diabetes or certain other conditions (I use an injectable migraine drug, for instance).
Yep, Sheetz. Well known for having the classiest gas station bathrooms in PA!Sheetz, I'm guessing? I suppose it's not all that surprising. Last time I visited PA, it seemed like every Sheetz had turned into the new late-night hangout spot.
Perhaps some illicit drug users might deposit their used needles, but that's just a side effect.
Yep---there are lots of medeical needs that require self injection, beyond diabetics. I have a clotting issue which requires a heparin injection before flights over 4 hours or car/bus rides over 6.I've heard that more are using injecting pens, but even those require single-use needles that require disposal. And those would be useful for anyone using lancets for blood tests. I'm not sure what the commotion is about something useful for people with medical needs. Perhaps some illicit drug users might deposit their used needles, but that's just a side effect.
why providing a sharps container bothers anyone is beyond me---even if illegal drug users ARE disposing of sharps there as well---isn't that better than in normal trash? Do peopel really think having a sharps container is going to lure addicts to a place?
