OK so am I totally Wrong here or What ??? :confused3

DH is 37 years old... He is not my son and I am not a Maid.. I am his Wife.. His life long Partner..

Should I be the one Ironing his work shirts???

I Iron my own or my son's when needed.. I even iron DH's clothes IF I am ironing others at the time for our Dressy occassions...

I don't see a reason for me to Lug out an Iron every day to Iron my husband's work shirts, especially when he normally puts a Sweatshirt on top of them.. He wears 3 shirts in the winter.. Short sleve, Long sleve then a Sweatshirt..

Yet... his secretary.. a Life long friend of his Mother's.. decided that he looked too wrinkly to be the Boss.. So she brought to the office a Mini Steam iron and SHE now Irons his Shirts every day..

He is lucky I don't make him Wash his own clothes.. 3 work shirts, socks, underware and pants per Day Xs 5 Days a week.. PLUS jeans, socks, underware and a Shirt per day Xs 7 Days a week... Not to mention my own clothes and our son's clothes.. I swear all I ever do is :laundy:

I don't iron DH's shirts and haven't in years. In fact since he began having to wear them four days a week I ahven't ironed them. He can either send them out or iron them himself.

DH takes his dress shirt and Docker type pants to the cleaners. I could iron them but don't have time. He likes his golf shirts ironed for some reason so they get a lick and a promise about once a month.

DH does all the ironing. Even my stuff. I wouldn't know what an iron was if it slapped me upside the head.

:lmao: Ironing!

I think if your DH is so concerned about his dress shirts, he should send them out to be cleaned and pressed. Or he could do it himself. Or he could wear the wrinkle free fabric shirts.

My DH is a carpenter, no ironing required. When we do go to a fancy occasion, I do iron for him, though.

If DH had a job where ironing was required, I would probably iron for him, especially if it was my "job" to do the laundry. To tell you the truth, I would be pretty embarassd if DH's secretary started pressing his shirts.

He would do it--he's better at it than me--but neither one of us irons anymore-we send out all his dress shirts to the dry cleaner every week. His suits go to the dry cleaner as well.
Oh, I do have a couple fo pairs of pants that need to be ironed and I do do that-but I rarely wear them because it's a pain.

DH irons his uniform shirts. I do his other ironing when he requests it, which isn't often (usually before a nice night out). I don't mind at all. :)

:lmao:

I was the same way ONCE with a Dishwasher

I'm still trying to figure out what 'sewing' is :confused3 It has something to do with a needle and thread, DH does that too :rotfl2: About the only thing he made sure he taught me was how to cook and do laundry. So I make sure I buy stuff that needs mending a lot, and ironing ALL the time :lmao:

My wife irons all of our family's clothes. She says that it reflects badly on her when we go out of the house with wrinkled clothing. I could care less whether or not my clothes are ironed. On one occasion, I spent the day ironing while my wife was at work. (It was one of those days when I had a holiday but she did not). It was NOT easy. I feel badly that she spends all that time ironing, but she is determined to do the job. And I guess that I don't feel badly enough to do my own ironing. My bad.

She also hand washes all of the dishes. Our dishwasher hasn't been used in over 15 years. When I tried to buy us a new one, she protested and demanded that we spend the money on new carpet for our family room. I do wash the dishes more often than I iron. Still, not often enough though.

I think that I need to drag her into the 21st century.

Everything in our house that needs to be ironed goes to the cleaners. Shirts only cost $1-$2 a piece to be laundered and pressed. Well worth the price, IMO.

I LOVE to iron! That being said, when I didn't work, yes I ironed his clothes. Now that we both work at our own business, we're lucky to get ANYTHING ironed. But if something needs ironed, I still do it.
If I weren't home or something, DH would do it without any complaining though.

There's no WAY I'd let another woman iron DH's shirts. I'd do it if it killed me! That's just too personal of a thing for her to be doing for him. He should be ashamed for LETTING her do it.

If I'm ironing I will iron his stuff but if he wants something specific ironed he will iron it or let me know a few days ahead of time so I can drop it off because thats how I iron for the most part now.

I doubt my husband knows what an iron is.

I do everything for him. He's my third child.

DH irons sends most shirts out, and irons the rest...even his T-shirts. :confused3

I do bring DH & DS suits to the Cleaners along with My own Dresses when we go on Cruises or Need them for Special Occassions...

But I am talking about a shirt that goes Under another shirt... I don't see a point.. So what if he is the boss.. It is an Air Conditioning and Heating business for goodness sake..

Construction workers aren't suppose to be Neatly Pressed, Starched and Clean.. It shows they Don't work hard enough.. :rotfl:

I take care of laundry, so I iron. But I haven't touched a lawn mower in 15 years...:thumbsup2

My husband has actually told me

"PUT DOWN THE IRON!"

I happily complied. I don't do it often and I don't do it well. He only needs dress shirts for "show days" and he usually just packs his dress shirts rolled and presses them in his hotel room. I make every effort to buy things that require no ironing for everyday.

I iron both our clothes. I used to only iron mine and felt pity for him when I saw him walking around wrinkled. I could hear my mother's voice chastising me in my head. Oh well, he helps with other things like laundry and cooking while I :happytv: It works both ways.
