Does your S.O. mind how much you Dis ?

No. Mine actually makes me stay on longer than I want to. He realized how much help this site was to us when I was planning our first ever WDW vacation back in 99...and saved us a ton of money too. Now he is always telling me to look stuff up. He is becoming SWA obsessed as a result of finding out about that darn DING program.

Yep. He gets real mad at me. That is why I get online a lot late, after he's gone to bed. But by then no one is here and I'm silly.

Hey ! Who ya calling "no one" !?!?

Mine doesn't care... as long as it doesn't interfere with her use of our PC!

He doesn't so much care since I have a laptop with wireless that I normally keep in the kitchen, which is kind of the hub of the household. I'm a SAHM, but my youngest is in kindergarten, so I have a lot of free time during the days. Of course I have things to get done around here, which I usually get done, but I DIS when I'm taking a break. I do think that sometimes he's a bit jealous, especially when it's very hectic for him at work like it is right now.

I can also bring my laptop with me when we're watching tv and check my e-mail, DIS, play a game, etc. Or I can bring it outside if I'm watching my son outside, but I don't usually do that.

When it comes to vacation planning he never minded it, though, since he always appreciated the hints and tips that I would get. It made our vacations so much nicer. He does not understand the whole community forum, though. He does believe that the DIS Boards hold the answers to all questions, however. :rotfl2:

DH doesn't mind, but I'm starting to mind! I'm addicted. It's taking too much of my time, lol!

I am a "host" on two other boards (not Disney related) and I have to be on them several times a week...so most evenings I'm on the laptop in the living room and he's watching whatever reality show is on that night. In between those two other boards, I'm checking things here...

He doesn't mind at all...we learned a lot from this board when we were planning our trip and we are still learning from the DVC board.

my DBF doesn't get mad, he's just thinks i'm mad (like a hatter) :teeth: we don't live together, so he really has no idea how much i'm on, i try to do it when he's not around. when he catches me he thinks its crazy though - but hey, our may trip was his idea :goodvibes it's our first time there together, so he totally did not realize what he was getting into when he suggested it! after countless babbling on my part about what resort & restaurants to pick, plus the monster itinerary spreadsheet i made, he's learned more about WDW than he ever wanted to know! :wizard:

My dh doesn't mind at all. He's usually on his laptop reading financial newsletters and such. Every evening we both have our laptops and I dis and he reads while watching TV.

In the beginning he didn't mind at all. But then I wasn't on as much and was careful not to do it when he was home, so we could spend time together.

Lately I have been on much, much more planning the Ladies-only trip and he has not been a happy camper. We even got into a fight about it. (not the trip, but the time online)
But I explained to him that for the first time in years I am finally doing something just for me, then he got it. It's hard when as a SAHM I was available for the kids and my DH 24/7 at the drop of a hat. Now I have something that is important to me and am making some real connections. It's just taking them some getting used to.

Sometimes I think he does, but he watches a lot of TV at night, and tends to watch things that I am not interested.

He likes The History Channel, which I like sometimes like, but there's only so many times you can watch the Bataan Death March, the D-Day landing, the Vietnam jungle being napalmed??? Then we do the cooking shows and the poker tour. There's also the Orange County Choppers show.

See what I mean???

So I DIS.

My DH loves Disney but he thinks I am nuts for checking the DIS on a daily basis. He does enjoy his trips that I plan by coming on the DIS so I guess he doesn't mind.

DH doesn't mind at all--he is usually watching TV or a DVD (he's a huge movie buff) just a few steps away in the living room while I'm in the dining room on the computer.

And, he's as big a Disney fan as I am, so he's always asking me things like, "So what do people on the boards think about Expedition Everest?" :sunny:

My DH loves Disney so he doesn't mind too much. He even went to a DIS Meet and got to meet Dan and some other great DISers so he's fine with my visiting with them on here. :)

It used to bother him and probably still does to some degree.
But as others have said, I am not taking away from time alone with him just as he is not taking time away from us when he watches tv, which I have little interest in.
When he makes comments I remind him of his hobbies and this is mine. No harm, no foul.

Nope not at all normally I'm on the laptop and he's on the desktop playing his zillion hours of computer games. He does wonder why some of these threads are posted on the disboards though when they have nothing to do with disney!

Usually DH just sort of mildly jokes about it. Although the other night we were having a spectacular argument about something else entirely and he brought up how much time I spend on the boards. So I guess ordinarily it doesn't bother him, but he will bring it up if he thinks it will help his cause during a fight.
