Hi

Sooo, does the address on the reservation have to match your id? meaning your drivers license? Wouldn' it be ok, if your name on the reservation matches your passport?

There was another thread were the person was asking this, as they booked their parents without telling them.

we have recently moved and two of our sons, now live out of state. I made all of the reservations and all tickets were mailed to me.

However when I bought insurance I needed to give their own addresses as the price of insurance goes by what state you live in.

Does it matter that when the reservations were made I made them for all of us with MY home address? There is no address on the paper work that DCL sent me,(except for the travel agent) so I'm thinking this is ok?

So does anyone think I will have a problem?

I cruise in 2 weeks.

No, your address on your reservation doesn't have to match your address on your driver's license. You should list your (their) correct address on the DCL information. If you are using your passports, no one will even look at your DL.

The names, birth dates and addresses have to be submitted to Homeland Security/Border Control. They are correlated with whatever addresses the government might have on file for you. DCL will use any address you wish to send the documents--on our recent cruise with 6 people, we had 5 different addresses. I asked that ALL documents be sent to me, which was no problem since I made and paid for all the ressies.

The poster who didn't want to tell her in laws about the ressie had estimated the birth dates as well as using her address. I guarantee you that the government has your accurate birth date on file somewhere.

When you do the on line check in, you can enter a different address for each person. Use the correct one, and don't worry if you haven't obtained new licenses for their new addresses. You won't have any problem with cruising whether you have a current or former address on the stuff.

Thank you for your detailed answer......I have already checked in on line, I will go back and change things.

Since you seem to know so much, I'm guessing you cruise with DCL alot!:thumbsup2

This is my second cruise with them.

This time we are driving to the port, since we live closer.......do you know what information I need to have ready when we arrive at the parking lot? Meaning, should I have the tickets DCL sent me, along with everyone's passport in my hand?

Thank you

Yes, she told you correct information. Just be sure that DCL does have the correct information for security purposes or it can be flagged. When we took our Nanny, I had all of the information, tags, documents sent to my home address, but they needed her correct one for Homeland Security. The ID the goverment has on file for your passport should match the one DCL gives them. So be sure to inform them but to tell them you need any and all documents sent to you since I am taking for granted you are the primary person on the reservation.:thumbsup2

To drive into the port area, you will need a photo ID for each adult. They will check the names of all members of the party against their manifest and let you in. You don't need your cruise contract any more (in years past, you did), but I just keep all my documents together so it is all in one small travel folder.

If husband parks after you and kids get out, have him keep a photo ID for himself (even though it is just across the street, they will look at it again.)

The address the government would have on file would be our old address, as we have moved since we got passports......so I'm thinking this can't be true???

Thinking I should just call DCL to double check on everything........thanks for your help.

The only potential problem I see with using a different address is if you book using a Florida address to get the Florida resident discount. At check-in you will be required to show proof of Florida residency (driver's license). If you don't have it, your cruise will be re-priced right there at the port, and you'll have to pay the difference. Just wanted to throw that in there.

No worries there, don't live in FL.

Your address you give them and have your documents mailed to do not need to be the same.
We just cruised this past Sunday and I booked using my 'real' address up north, had the docs sent to my FL house, and my FL ID has a different address since I haven't changed it yet. When I got to the port I just showed my FL ID to the guards at the port at entry and after I parked the car. When I checked in I handed them the passports and had to show my FL ID so my FL res. rate would be valid - the CM checking my in didn't even check the address just looked to see that it was a FL ID.

Hope this helps.

We are in the process of moving right now, so do we need to change our address information for our passports? I looked aound the passport website and couldn't find anything specifically about it.
