Whenever the schools have a snow day, or a holiday or school vacation week, my company allows people to bring their children to work and they have all kinds of activities set up to keep them entertained. They play games, show movies, have people dress up as characters & take pictures. So the kids all go down to a couple of conference rooms (by age) and the parents can work a normal day, then have lunch & breaks with the kids. This keeps employees from calling out on snow days and school vacations. We call it kid camp, and most of the kids look forward to it. Upper management usually staffs it, so they basically get a day off to watch the kids. Sometimes they let hourly people volunteer too if they need more help.
On Mondays they have free coffee all day in the cafe, that is super popular. On snow days they also usually have donuts & muffins coffee juice knowing that people will be running late and not have time to stop.
We get discounts on GE appliances. We get a decent rate on tickets for concerts & sporting events.
Tuition assistance is the BEST.
Having a workout room or health center ON SITE saves a ton on med insurance costs, and people call out way less. People are way more likely to use it if they dont have to go anywhere.
We get huge discounts at local museums. Small discounts at local resteraunts, gyms, movie theaters.
A hospital nearby includes "Pet insurance" in their insurance offerings, it is a really reasonable rate because there are so many employees and saves people a LOT on vet bills. it is VERY popular. I wish I had it!
Before all major holidays they have things in the lobby to help us out, like before Mothers day & Valentines there is usually a florist we can order through and a bunch of tables of "gifts" we can buy. It really saves a trip to the store.
