Does Your Dog Sleep in Your Bed??

Both my dogs sleep in my bed, my new adopted 10 month old sleeps under the covers. My 4 1/2 year old adopted dog (we got her when she was 3) sleeps with us. King size bed but they allow us some room.

I don't have a dog, but both my cats sleep in my bed and if I DID have a dog, it would sleep there too :teeth:

My baby Harley Girl (Great Dane) let's us sleep in her king size bed. She just sneaks in between us and out like a light. lol She doesn't bother me any but poor DH always gets kicked out of bed. :D
I guess when 135 lbs says she wants more room she means it

My 65 lb. Shelby (lab/shep) sleeps under the covers with me (head on the pillow sometimes). She'll nudge the blankets to get me to lift them up. If I don't, she just pushes them down, down, down.

The other one, 55 lb (shep/something) usually sleeps up by my head, but jumps down and runs away the first time I move, and then goes to sleep with my DS.

Used to know a guy who had 2 Great Pyrenees that slept with him and his wife. Ugh.

my 65 pound labrador, Madison sleeps in our bed. Now bear in mind we have a queen size bed and in it is myself, dh who is 6'4" and 265 pounds and Madison. I am glad I am next to the wall or I would fall off the bed every night. we need a king size bed.

When I'm not up there McGee will. I walk into the room and I hear him jump down then he lays down on his bed really quick. Problem is, dummy doesn't realize he leaves body heat behind and the bed is warm. Lilo isn't fond of the bed and prefers her own.

My dog is an 85 lb. labrador, he sleeps on the bed until I come up -- we have a king size. I love it, because it is like an electric blanket. If DH is away he will stay in bed all night. As soon as the alarm goes off he jumps off and snuggles in between the two of us. He loves weekends when he gets to lounge for a long time and get rubbed. Also got him abused from the pound. Also I wonder if he knows that he is sooooo lucky.

Our Shepherds have always been welcome in our bed. One, now gone, used to get angry if you moved. Another - a 106lb female, liked to *sprawl*.

Now our pup Liesl likes to come up but just for a while, thankfully, then she goes in her bed right next to me. Cody, our 13yr old, liked to come up when he was younger but now he can't even make it up the stairs. :(

Guess none of us have to worry about unwanted visitors in our bedrooms at night, right guys? (pearl bracelet anyone?) :teeth:

My 65 pound furbaby sleeps in my bed more than me. He is usually curled up right next to me when I'm in bed then alot of times will go back to bed shortly after we get up. Once back in bed, he'll watch me getting ready for work w/ this look that seems to say "but, Mama, it's still time for sleeping. Wouldn't you rather curl up and sleep than leave me?" . He's so adorable and so good at keeping the bed warm I could never kick him out.

No, not in our bed, but on the floor beside the bed on my side. :D

She sleeps in someones bed but she varies whose. She's about 70 pounds but boy does she take up lots of room!!

Maggie, our golden retriever sleeps with us every night. She's usually between us in our king sized bed and definitely likes to sprawl out taking up more than half the bed space!! If DH is away for work she will sleep on his side with her head on his pillows.

My mini-dachshund was sleeping with us. She would sleep between DH and I - head against him & butt against me. :p She has recently been kicked off the bed because she was getting too bossy - now she sleeps in her bed right beside my side of my bed.

Oh boy, talk about a loaded question. Let's see I start to get ready for bed, this is the cue for our 100 lb black lab Max to stake his spot on the end of the bed. I get into bed, the mix breed 95 lb Scooby jumps up into DH spot head on pillow. DH pushes him off the bed and gets in. Scooby tries to convice Max to give up his spot. As if that would happen, he now goes into his crate in the other room. As the night goes by our cat Sonny now decides he want to sleep on the bed too. He snuggles down by Max who lets out a muffled half hearted growl. (does not not a mean bone in his body and the cat knows it. ) Sonny opens one eye they goes back to sleep. Max goes to sleep. In the morning either my DH or myself gets up first, now Scooby has reentered the bedroom and jumps up to take the empty spot. So as you can see there is rarely an empty spot on our bed. Nothing like a furry warm body during the long cold winters.

During the day, they seem to take turns on the bed to take naps. Mind you we have a cat bed (a toy to play on), dog bed ( another bed for the cat), crate, and not to mention the couch, love seat and overstuffed chairs. The furniture is for snuggling next to family members.

Tucker usually starts out on the bed at night, but I think he gets to hot and then either lies on the floor or crawls under the bed on my side. He probably only sleeps on the bed about 30 minutes a night. But as soon as the alarm goes off in the am and he hears me move, he just back up on the bed for morning cuddles with momma! :)

I was on a train last night and the woman beside me was complaining to her friends about her husband's cat, how she couldn't stand it having the run of the house. Blah, blah, blah. She said in her family she's used to dogs being kept outside "so you don't have to deal with them" and "can play with them if you want". I was tempted to say something but my kids were there and it was none of my business really, I just felt bad for the cat and wondered what kind of life the dogs had.

Anyway, how lucky our pets are...

I have a 70 lb. lab mix. He's obviously a good sized dog. He clearly believes he "shares" his bed with me. This minute I get in bed, no matter where he is he knows and he comes running! I generally get kissed/licked to death and he'll plop down next to me or at my feet.

Now for my husband, that's another story. He's "my dog!" My husband works second/third shifts a lot so we are not usually in bed at the same time. As my husband tries to get into bed around 3 am, the dog will growl and not allow him to get in bed. There's either a fight ensuing or my husband heads to the couch until I get up at 5:00 am. It's absolutely hysterical!

When I am out of town, watch out. Perfect example--last week we were at WDW. The dog lays across the entire bed with his head on my pillows. He does "not" allow my husband to get into bed at all! He just growls and snarls.

We know who the "boss" is in my house!!!! Glad to know I don't have the only spoiled dog. I truly believe he does not know he isn't a human being. I will say as well, the dog for the first time got more souvenirs this trip than everyone else! That's mostly in part to the new store that opened at Downtown Disney!

[/QUOTE]Never would he EVER sleep in my bed, to me thats just nasty. He's outside during the day laying in the grass, mudd and whatever else is on the ground, theres no way he's gonna be on MY bed!
Well, our dog goes outside for one thing only - other than that, he's in the house at all times. He lays in the sun like a cat most of the day.

He also goes to the "doggie spa" (as my kids call it) every other month for a bath and haircut.

If he were stinky and dirty, he would NEVER sleep on the foot of my bed. He has no desire to climb under the blankets or use my pillow - so I see nothing NASTY about it.

Doesn't your dog have their own bedroom?!! Mine do! That's what you get when you have a four bedroom house and no kids! Two of our dogs sleep in their bedroom (even decorated for dogs), and our "old baby" sleeps in our room, in her own bed, next to "Daddy".
We adopted our third "beagle-something" from a shelter two weeks ago, so she is still in a crate, and our "middle child" has to sleep in the room with her.
Really, we're not joking!

I wish Missy would sleep in our bed! But she refuses and sleeps on the floor next to the bed instead.
