I just came across the information about a GPS collar for dogs. If they should get out, you would receive a text message or email sayng your dog is out and here is his location.
Does your dog have one? Have you heard about this?

They should make the GPS the size of the microchips they implant.
I think this will only work if the dog stays in one place finally. Unless you have a cell with Internet or someone at home by the PC to monitor, how often are they going to send text messages as to where the dog is roaming?
I would love something like this for our dog. We are in the process of setting up an invisible dog fence to try and keep our houdini in. We've spent over $1000 on it so far and still cant get it to work.
As wonderful as it seems collars themselves are falling out of favor with some dog owners due to pets getting the collar tangled on something and either strangling themselves or exhausting themselves trying to break free.
A GPS on a break-away collar seems easy to lose...
