Does your child actually play with their Power Wheels car?

I'm asking because I am thinking of Craigslisting DD's 6V Powerwheels car. I found it on the curb and I did buy it a new battery and new stickers, so I think I spent like $40 total on it. She'll get in it for like 30 seconds and then get out of it and say "done". She isn't interested in steering it, and she's hit-or-miss about even pressing the gas pedal. Maybe it's just not that exciting:confused3 She's just about to turn 2 so maybe she's too young for it still:confused3

She really seems to like the 12V Harley Powerwheels (also a curbside find:thumbsup2 ), but at her age she can't safely ride that one. Do your kids actually use their 6V Powerwheels, or are these not actually as fun as they look?

If she's not even 2, then I'd say she's too young to appreciate/enjoy it yet. My ds had two ... his first was a 6V that he got around age 3, and then a 12V at age 5. He LOVED both of them. His younger cousins used them both, too, when they were old enough.

My niece got the Barbie jeep for her 5th b-day and they used it for years. Her younger brother even used to tool around in it.

I think they just need to be old enough to "get it".

DS started using his around age 3. He used to drive around in it with the dog in the passenger side. He enjoyed it until almost 7 years old

At 2 she is a little young to really enjoy it. We have 2 of them and the kids love them!

My 3 year old is on his DAILY!

We got it at a yard sale last year for $15. It is a one seater though but was in great condition.

He LOVES it!

My daughter loves her power wheels. She'll be 8 and still uses the ones she can fit into. When she was 3 we keep the lamborghini in the house for her to ride around in. It was the cutest thing ever!

We have:

* Barbie Jeep (my dad got at yard sale)
* Barbie Lamborghini (purchased from ebay years ago)
* John Deer Gator (given to us by friends)

My son got one for his second birthday. He hardly ever used it at 9 now, he obviously doesnt fit in it. My dd5 doesnt seem interested in it either. My husband says its taking up space in the garage. What do I do with it now?:confused3

Craigslist! That's what I was going to do w/DD's. It looks like I need to wait a year to see if she will start liking it, though.

I think she is too young to enjoy it yet. I am not sure why they even market them for kids that young.

DS4 had one, will not keep a charge worth anything, but most popular toy in the neighborhood, kids from his age and up to 9 love it. It is a motorcycle and honestly I am glad it never works. I would rather him ride his bike and get the excercise.

I agree she's too young. I bought my son a used one when he was 4. He loved it. He rode for years, until he was way to big to ride. Then we sold it, quite beat up, at a garage sale to a woman whose kid rode it for a few more years and she sold it. It was a great buy for us.

in fact dh teased me when my 2 year old was scared of it and refused to get in, but a year or two later the power wheels were a favorite!

DD received one for her 4th birthday in September. The first few days she really liked it, now I doubt it gets used 15 minutes a weekend. Luckily we didn't buy it for her.....

My nephew has been riding them since he was around 4. He is 7 now. He loves the two he has and rides them daily. Scares his parents because he is a daredevil. He loves to ride up the hill and goes down really fast. He has only tipped over once but he loves to do it.
My son wants to get the Lightening McQueen at Kmart for my grandson who is 2, but I don't think he will really use it till the spring. It gets too cold here for driving it outside in the winter.
I was given the Thomas the Tank Engine ride on and my grandson loves that. He goes on that for around 30 min. then off to play with other things, then on again, 3-4 times a day. It is on a track so it is confined a little more than the power wheels so he can't get crazy and mess up my walls.

My 9yo DD still rides her 12v truck around the backyard. She didn't really start riding it around until she was about 4.
I'd say she's still a little too young.

We got our daughters them when they were 2 & 4. The little one got a dora one seater, the older one got the barbie two seater, the 2 year old could not use it, but we bought her one because we knew there would be issues with the older one getting one, honestly two years later, she's not that good at it, and they are not played with enough to justify the amount we paid.

yes- we bought dd the barbie jeep in 2003 for her 4th birthday. it was well worth the money. it still works and the kids do use it still. I bought ds the power wheels ninja 4 wheeler brand new off ebay when he turned 3 and he loved that thing. Unfortunately a older kid rode it and broke it- it finally went out the trash last week.. so that lasted almost 3 year..

My DS got his for his 1st birthday. Too young, I know, but my grandparents got it for him, and my grandma was starting into Alzheimer's disease and grandpa wanted to get it while she was still able to watch him and know what was going on.

He didn't start playing with it really until about 3 or so.
