My cat will literally come over and stare at me and meow until I get up and go get her, her treats. Or she will come over walk around and just throw herself on the floor and shes a "big" cat it makes a noise when she hits the ground. BOOM!

So, does your cat beg? :teeth:

I was going to post a similar question, so I can figure my kitten out.

I have only owned one other cat before this one, and Simba was the BEST cat. He did not like strangers, but he loved us! Anyway, Simba ran away when we moved, and we have not found him. :(

I got this kitten, because my son was obsessing about Simba. (to a point where it was unhealthy). I thought a new kitten could take his mind off Simba. It did! All 3 kids love the new kitty, named Sara.

Sara, is a cry baby! She cries all day, and I have no idea what she is trying to tell me. her food is there, her water is there, her litter box is clean.

I will wake up in the morning and she (already in my bed) will race me to the kitchen, then get right under my feet, crying and meowing the whole time!

I swear, she is trying to tell me things, with all her meowing, but I don't talk kitty! It is very frustrating! She definitely has a much stronger personality than Simba did! f I had to disturb Simba's slepp by picking him up and moving him over on the bed, so I could get in, he would just snuggle back down and go to sleep, whenever I move her, she YELLS at me! Like, how dare I disturb her sleep!

So, yes, I have a cat that begs, I just don't know what she is begging for!

Our cat will come over and beg if one of us is eating Cheez-Its or some other crunchy snack.

Just the two 2 year olds. I don't know why them but they will chase me arounf the second I start eating something. I really think they are secretly part dog part pig in a cat suit! :earboy2:

Yes, we actually taught her to sit up and beg like a dog. She'll do that at the table first, then if it isn't getting our attention, she'll jump up and pound her front paws on our legs.

She also "yells" about getting NEW water, NEW food, etc. It doesn't matter that there's food and water out - she wants NEW. I give her new water, but since her food is in a feeder dish, I draw the line at throwing out the food (Eukanuba dry food).

Chyna is very vocal as well. We've had her for 5 years and I swear she talks to us. I had never seen a cat do that until her.

Our cat begs and she also has lots of different sounds that mean different things (e.g., she literally says "milk" when she wants milk, LOL!!!!). She has taken to begging from me incessantly at dinner--she pops her paws up on the arm of my chair and then stars beating me or gently clawing me until she gets attention.

Yup, Spencer begs for attention and food and Kirby begs for us to leave him alone :)

We had two different cats that would beg. The one would only do it when we were eating popcorn, she would just come and sit there all nice and tall, meow occasionly, until we gave her a piece. The other cat would bat you with her paw when she wanted something. If you tried to ignore her, her claws would come out a little or she would "nip" at us.

Baby, who is 14 yr. old, still begs. I got him when I was a kid and my mother would spoil him. Now anytime I pour coffee he cries for milk. He also likes to drink water from the faucet, which I don't allow ( I have a day-care in my home, not very hygenic!). He also cries during the night if he is bored. He jumps on the dressers and knocks stuff off too during the night. When my kids were babies, he would jump in their cribs if I ignored him. He is truly a very vocal Baby!!

A big fat yes! i feed her once at 6 am and once at 6 pm. If I happen to be up before 6, she'll meow and whine and rub up against me and claw me until I feed her. Sometimes, she'll even wake me up by putting her claws on my nose. At night, if I'm home before six she will sit down and stair at me for however long it takes until I feed her - 10 minutes to an hour - and I swear she won't even move a muscle - and she deliberately gets in the way of my TV!

Yes, she begs for attention, treats, playtime, to be snuggled, etc. She's very bossy!

Both of mine do, in different ways.

Chester cries loudly for new food, new water, to scoop the litter box. Everything.

Jasmine "squeaks" to be picked up. She lets Chester do the serious begging - and when he gets new food, she comes running too. ;)

Doctor P also forgot to mention that our cat has also "lept" when she's trying to get his attention at dinner and puts her claws out for his arm. Sometimes it's funny because all of a sudden you see this cat head popping up over the kitchen table (from my viewpoint because I'm two seats away from him on the side of the table) but her claws hurt. She knows NOT to do that to me. It's like she's jumping up and down. When dd is getting her lunch ready for school or is making a sandwich Candi will get on her hind legs and she looks like a muskrat or a ground squirrel. It's really hilarious sometimes. Oh and get the ice cream out and she is very vocal or gets right up in your face if you're trying to eat it (now mind you she doesn't get much, we put a tiny little bit on the back of the spoon arm, just enough to satisfy her and it's only vanilla).

Lol. Yep she begs. Usually she doesn't get anything though so I don't know why she still tries.

Yes they both beg (in fact Figgy is being quite vocal right now.) The have also learned how to recieve strokes on demand as they will force their head under our hands and them push their head forwards!

Pugsley who is 11 1/2 will jump on your lap while you are attempting to eat, not always, but it has happened. Otherwise he will just do the death stare until you give him something.
Daisy is 3 and she doesn't eat much table food although you'd never know it because she's so CHUBBY! In the morning she will beg for new food even if her dish is full. The way she meows really sounds like she's yelling at you. She does the same thing when I leave for work in the morning.

:cat:

These stories are cracking me up. :rotfl2: Chyna will not eat any kind of people food and she will not eat canned cat food, it has to be her hard Iams food. But she sure does love her cat treats, Pounce is her favorite. And as I said before, she will beg and beg for her treats.

My cat begs whenever anyone is in the kitchen eating.

He's a big lug, too. He's certainly not starving.

yes Lily begs big time. when it is food, I give her a little of what I haev and she licks it. doesn't eat it unless it is cake. or tuna fish.
but then she begs to go onteh computer as she wants to DIS, she pokes at me and walks all over the keyboard.
she begs to go outside. and she is an indoor kitty. but I give her what she wants because I love her.
