Does World of Disney in DTD have everything?

I read an excellent suggestion in a recent post to just window shop while in the parks and then go to World of Disney in DTD near the end of your stay and purchase everything there. That way you can ship it all together (avoiding the sales tax and minimizing the shipping charges).

My question is: Does World of Disney have everything that you can find anywhere in the World?

I mentioned this idea to my DW and she said, "Fine, but I'm going to make notes of everything I want and where it was and if I can't find it at World of Disney, you're going to be running to where it was to get it!" :earseek:

It has most everything, but no not everything. We found coats we wanted to get and waited to go to DTD to get them since AP members get a discount there, and they did not carry them. We seen the coats in 2 of the parks and had to go back to get them. They don't carry all the t-shirts either.

Some of the items for the home can't be found there either. I wanted these lovely bath towels with mickey head cut out design that I saw at MGM and also in the Disney Home shop. Thought I would buy everything at the World of Disney since I could get an AP discount there, but they didn't have them. I was so exhausted that evening I didn't even go back to the home shop which is right next door, and now I am sitting here in Sweden wishing I had those towels  !

I'll be ordering them soon though, just got to find them on the good old internet!

WoD Store does not carry "park specific" merchandise. You will find most of the usual WDW generic themed stuff there, but if you have your heart set on that sparkly Epcot shirt, you should pick it up when you see it.

No they do not have everything. If you want specific park or ride merchandise you will have to purchase it where you see it.
If you must go to World Of Disney try to shop during the day. In the evenings it is an absolute MAD HOUSE.

They also don't have much Christmas stuff because the Christmas store is in DTD. They also didn't have the pin bag I was looking for and they only carry 2 kinds of dinosaurs from the AK/Dinosaur ride.

My advice at WDW is that if you see it and you want it --don't wait! Buy it now or you'll regret it when you get home.

I can't tell you how many times I've thought...oh, I'll just pick that up later and never got back to it. And while WoD is HUGE and has a ton of stuff--it won't have everything.

We always go to DTD the first night. If I see something I can't live without, I buy it right away. If not, I wait because I ship home, and I like doing it all at once. Anyway my point is, I check out WOD very carefully. So then if I find something at the parks, and I don't remember seeing at the WOD I buy it. Better safe than sorry. :earsgirl:

They have alot but not everything...I have found it best to get what I want when I find it and if I also do well at WOD then so be it.

I agree w/ NMAmy - if you see it and want it, BUY IT! I can't tell you how many times - at WDW and other places - that I've said, "I'll come back and get that," and when I come back it's gone (or I never make it back)! Good advice!

We go to WOD once during the begininning of our stay to get stuff we really want during the trip (goofy burgers, new shirt, hat,..) and take note of the stuff we really like. We browse the stores during our visit and if we aren't sure its at WOD or aren't sure we'll be returning to teh park, we buy it then. We then return to WOD near the end of the trip to buy most everything at once. That serves two purposes: 1 - ship home if we want (though we haven't done that before), and, 2 - it saves money because its harder to spend all of that at once so we will reassess what is in the basket and usually put a couple of things back.

We were in Epcot after going on Mission Space for the first time and my husband and I really liked a Mission Space pin we found in the store where the ride lets out but we didn't buy it because we were planning to go to DTD on the last day of our trip (after our hopper passes were used up). We never found that pin at DTD....lots of other Mission Space pins but not the one we wanted. So I say if you see it and you want it, buy it.

We always start and end our trips w/ shopping in DTD. This way, we know what WOD is currently carrying. So if we see something in the parks we don't remember seeing in DTD-- we pick it up there.

Most of the toys and games are found in Once Upon a Toy and not World of Disney. So if you want any of those Disney-themed board games, you will need to by them at OUAT.

I'll be ordering them soon though, just got to find them on the good old internet!

Let me know if you find them on a website somewhere! We decided against buying them because we were going to get something else and then at the last minute they ran out of the thing we were going to get & it was too late for us to wait for the embroidery on the towels.
