Does WDW Railroad run during parades?

I was there once when they closed the Railroad in MK during Specromagic. Do they close it during the afternoon parade also?

I know that they didn't used to last year. I got on the train after I rode Splash and took it around to the Main Street. The CM suggested it to me as a way to avoid the congestion from the parade.
