Does WDW do anything special for Epiphany (January 5th/6th)?
Well, I'm Catholic and it's a big celebration/holiday for many Catholics/Christians around the world. Given that they do many things for Christmas in WDW, I figured they could do something similar in Epcot's World Showcase. It would be cool if they had the three Magi and camels in Epcot, along with the three types of kings cakes for sale (American, Spanish, and French are each diffrent). Countries have diffrent traditions based on the particular Christian religion they follow (Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox being the biggest difference). I figured they could do a short special two day event basically in the theme parks in some way. Just a thought. Mardi Gras doesn't really happen until March and most outside of few regions celebrate that but Epiphany unfortunately gets overlooked sometimes. What would you have them do?
I'm sure they could have camels if they wanted to (including fake ones).Funny, I was raised Catholic, and don't remember any type of celebrations around Epiphany. In any case, I don't believe WDW does anything, and definitely no camels.
Maybe the thread will change that.I can't recall WDW ever doing anything special for Epiphany. We've been going to WDW since the late 70's.
That's sad if they got rid of it.The Three Kings used to appear as part of the Festival of the Holidays. They also had a Feast of the Three Kings booth (I think that is what it was called). I don't think either have been back for a number of years.
I was saying in the Epcot showcase.Disney theme parks are not religious organizations. The 2 Christian holidays they celebrate have become as important as secular holidays & commercially as they are religious. Maybe even more so. No reason at all they should start celebrating or acknowledging every Christian holiday there is. Go to your church for that. Or The Arc Encounter park, maybe they will acknowledge it.

Sure, and for Pentecost they could have tongues of flames coming down from the sky. There are already christian theme parks for those who feel it is that important to celebrate their customs in that environment. Perhaps consider the feelings of people who aren't christian and don't want all the religious stuff thrown at them at Disney World?Maybe the thread will change that.
