We are going to VB in February and reserved a 1 bedroom. Do all 1 bedrooms have ocean views? Should I suggest one by calling MS or wait until I arrive and check in. Thanks!

I would just hate to be disappointed.......

No none of the studios, 1 or 2 beds really have ocens views as set further back in the gardens.

It depends more on what building you are in and floor you are on. Below is a layout of the villa buildings (stolen from Lisareniff). The 3 buildings are "U" shaped with the bottom of the U facing the ocean. All these units are 2 bedroom units. The blue units are dedicated 2 bdrm. The pink/purple units are lock-offs that turn into 1 bdrm / studios. Obviously the units at the bottom of the "U" can actually have a direct view. The other lock-offs are positioned such that they could have a view. Now... bldg 14 is pretty much blocked by vegetation and beach cottages. Bldg 12 has a greater chance of view on the north side and bldg 15 has a greater chance of view on the south side. Each bldg has 3 floors. The higher you are the better the chance of a view.

I think going in February you will likely have a choice regardless of requests, but I would surely suggest you put in a request for a 3rd floor. I don't think they take ocean view request for these though. Not positive about that so try to request it.

Good Luck :beach:

I would definately have MS put it on your request. And then ask at check in as well. I have had a 1st floor 1 bed in building 12 that all we saw was greenery. And then we had a wonderful 1 bed in building 15 on the 3rd floor with a fabulous ocean view. Good luck!

That's not really true. The "inn" rooms which are studios, or rather many of them, have direct ocean views if requested and avalible.

The Inn rooms are actually classified as "Inn Rooms" not "Studios". They are located in bldg 13 in the "Inn". The studios are part of the 2 bdrm lock-offs in the villa buildings. The Studios and Inn rooms share similar layouts and accommodations. Except, the Studios have a king bed and sleep sofa, whereas most of the inn rooms have 2 queen beds... A couple secret rooms have a king bed.... I have not yet snagged one of them.

Edit: We have stayed in Inn rooms, 1bdrms, and 2 bdrms, not ever a studio... so my assertion of the king bed in the studios is third hand.

True, but the 'Inn rooms' are called just that and not 'studios', hence I didn't want to confuse by calling the 'Inn rooms' 'studios'. We had an Inn Room in June and it was ocean view, or rather side ocean view, but it was nice as we overlooked the ocean, pool and inland.

About 1/6 of the 1 BR units have a decent ocean view. Those on the end of the buildings and on the 3rd and 4th floors.

Alot of people book the "Inn" room category vs the "studio" category based on the fact that there is a clear choice for booking "ocean" view with the Inn rooms. Also, the Inn room as 2 actual beds, vs 1 bed and 1 fold-out couch in the studios. So from my perspective, there are clear differences between a studio and an Inn room.

While they are very similar, they are more like other studios at certain resorts while the studios at VB are more like the studios at OKW in shape other than the 2 real queen beds.

VB Inn rooms have 1BR and Ocean view - we loved ours!

There are no 1 BR units in the Inn, only Inn rooms essentially studios but set up differently than the "true" studios there. There are a few corner units that are bigger and set up differently.

Dean's right. Inn rooms are a total different setup. I've only stayed at VB 2x (3rd time will be in May). Both stays we've had a corner room. Our last corner room (garden view) was HUGE !
