Does Universal have anything similar to Disney's guest assistance card?

yes, they have a card that is similar.
talk to a TM at guest services and they will help you with it.

i've received them before in order to avoid stairs after i had knee surgery.
they were extremely accommodating in helping me with it.

Well, even Disney doesn't have their old GAC anymore. From what I've read about their new program, it matches what Universal was doing previously. So if you've been to Disney in the last year or so, expect something like that at Uni.

Thanks for the replies. We have used both systems at Disney, good experience with both. The newer system was easy to use, so hopefully we won't have any problems at Universal. Glad to hear they have something to assist with "waiting issues".

you get a card to take to the TM at the ride.
if the line wait at that time is less than 30 minutes, you are allowed to enter the line then.
(express line that is)

if the present wait is longer, they cut that time in half and you return at the written time on the card.
present the card to the TM, you'll go in the express line then.

Thanks for explaining it further.

The return time is actually 15 minutes less than the posted wait- so if it's 3:00 and the ride is at a 60 minute wait, you'll get a return time of 3:45 :)

Will it allow your whole party to come back at that time the same way the Disney one does?
Thanks

Thanks for all the responses. One more question, what is needed as "proof"? My son is autistic, school IEP?

No proof needed. They are not allowed by law to ask medical private information. You explain your disability, difficulty with staying in a long line and they will give you the reasonable remedy for it, like explained above. No different than any other park, including WDW.

Thanks, we never needed anything at Disney. First trip to Universal, just want to make sure we are prepared.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Is Universal like Disney regarding wheelchairs (the push kind)...does the wheelchair get in the regular line for the ride (I am hoping the answer is yes!). We have never been to Universal and we have someone in a wheelchair due to not being able to walk the distances in the park. At Disney we just got right on the regular line for rides that we didn't have FP+ for. Does it work the same at Universal?

ALL of the lines for ALL of the attractions are 100% ADA regulated. You can take a wheelchair thru all of our lines. If there are stairs as part of a queue (Gringotts for example), there is an elevator.

Gringotts and Forbidden Journey both have an elevator. With the Gringotts one, you still get to see everything. With the Forbidden Journey one, you miss a few things.
