Does this sound like a good strategy for CP?

I am planning on booking a CP package. We will be going early December, but with three little kids, I'd feel better getting the package and keeping waiting in lines to a minimum.

I was choosing between the Coral Reef, the Garden Grill and the Biergarten. I'm thinking of going with the Biergarten. I've been to the Biergarten and enjoyed it -- as have my Dh and my in-laws who will be with us. And, my thoughts were the kids could move around a bit, between the buffet and some dancing with their dad. They had fun doing the chicken dance and the polka last time :p

I love character meals and that's why I was considering the Garden Grill -- but we are doing others on the trip, and I just thought I'd be better off letting the kids get up and move a bit during dinner since they will have to sit during the CP. They will be 6, 4, and almost 3 during the trip.

Coral Reef, I just wanted to go to since it sounds pretty and I think my kids would love the peanut butter play doh. Maybe we can work in a lunch stop another day....

Anyhow, any feedback about the Biergarten as a dinner choice for the CP package? Does my reasoning sound right?

Thanks!

I think Biergarten is a good choice for several reasons. We did the CP last year and ate there. The food was really good and the Christmas show they put on was really very nice. We will be doing the CP this year again and will again eat at Germany providing it is part of the dinner package this year. I don't foresee it not being.

Biggest reason for us besides good food is Location, Location, Location. The Biergarten is only a short walk to the Theatre for the show or from the show to dinner. You have a better chance of making your PS if you do the show first. If you are eating first than you only have a short distance to get to the line to wait for CP seating. While Coral Reef and Garden Grill are great; it is a very long walk to get or from there to the theatre. So you run the risk of being late for either the show or dinner.

Thanks! That helps. I hadn't even thought about location - something I usually take into account -- and a huge plus with thre little ones! And, that's great to hear that they do something special for Christmas at the Biergraten, too -- hadn't thought about that either.

I've traveled a few times in Germany so the Biergarten brings back some nice memories. Thanks for your feedback. I can't wait to book it!

I was very happy to be of help! Eating at the Biergarten did bring back wonderful memories of our trips to Germany; and I hope it does for you, as well.

One nice thing is that it is a buffet; so there is a better chance of everyone in your group finding something that they like including the little ones.

The show is both fun and entertaining. They do play "Stille Nacht" better known as "Silent Night" here. It brought tears to my eyes.

Make sure to give yourselves plenty of time between eating and the show, too. Sometimes PS run a little late if it is a busy night. Be prepared to stand in line for a while for the show, too! But it is worth it!

Have a Great Time!
