We have 3 kids ages at travel time are 2, 4, & 7. I'm renting a single stroller from ABBF for the 2 yr old because I want one thats more comfortable then the parks' strollers plus it would recline. Then when we get to the parks I thought we would rent a double stroller for DD4 and just in case DS7 was tired he could take turns w/DD4. I thought about just getting a single at the parks but DS7 is a big boy and I don't think he'd fit in a single but he would (hopefully) in a double.

Does this sound logical? Seems like a lot of renting to me but I want to have something for DS7 if hes tired. Thanks for any opinions.

Just wondering why you are renting for your youngest? Why not bring your own, or buy a decent, inexpensive stroller that you can use again? (I'm sure you could find one for about the same prices as renting from ABBF). If you're going to be making any more trips in the next few years, you'll still get use out of it. My ds, for instance, will be four on our next trip and I know he will still be using the stroller. I just think buying one for the youngest (or using one you already own) would be less expensive, otherwise, your plan sounds perfect!

Take a look at the strollers before plunking down the money for a double. The singles hold big kids. I'm 5'1" 105#--small adult, but I would be a tremendous 7yo. I fit in a single--not very comfortably, but I definitely fit. If your kids are definitely going to take turns and not ride together, you might be fine with a single.

I would agree with the PP about looking for a stroller about the cost of your rental to take with you. You would probably appreciate one in the airport. It could save you some money, if you use it at all beyond this trip.

Enjoy!

My DDs were similar ages to yours last time we went to WDW (2.5, 5, 6.5). We bought a Sit and Stand for the trip, and we loved it. I know some other posts have been negative about this type of stroller, but it worked great for us. We bought the Babytrend one from Target for about $120. I find this one to be much larger than the Joovy one. It also has a snack tray for parents and plenty of storage underneath.

My youngest DD rode in the front and my DD5 could hop on the back whenever she wanted. My DD6 would also take a turn when she was tired. They all got a chance to ride/rest and we only had one stroller to worry about. Sometimes we even pushed all three kids (youngest DD in front, middle DD sitting in back, oldest DD standing in back) and it worked great even though it was heavy. This was especially great when we were trying to go somewhere fast at the end of the day, like the parking lot.

I thought renting a stroller from abbf would be easier then using the one I have - I do have a Mac Quest that I bought specifically for WDW. Loved it in the store but in real life I don't like it at all. I don't like the sunshade and I bought a Ray shade (I think thats the name of it) to extend it and its really a pain. I didn't really look at it enough at the store - I loved its easy steering and how light it was - and didn't pay attention to it not having a parent/child tray, very little storage & tippy tippy tippy! I do have an old Graco in the garage that the sunshade broke but maybe we can fix it!

I was going to bring the Mac just for the airport and then have the other one for the parks. Thanks for the opinions - I'll see what we can figure out!

We looked at these and DD1 & DD4 loved them! The only reason I didn't buy it was DD1 (18mths) is 30 lbs and DD4 is 44 and the weight restiction was 80 lbs so I didn't know how long we would get to use it. But it sounds like it can handle a little more then 80 lbs from time to time.
Maybe we'll go back and look again - thanks!

My DD2.5 is about 35 pounds, DD5 about 45, and DD6 about 50. So when we have two girls in the stroller, we always have at least 80 pounds. When we push all three, that's about 130 pounds. (Plus we always start the day with a lot of water bottles, etc. in the bottom of the stroller, which makes it even heavier.) I don't know how long it would hold up to this much weight, but we used it this summer on our beach vacation and trip to Hershey Park, and for 8 days in Disney in December and it seems just fine.

I agree with this plan. I have the Gracco that they rent and I love it but it is a little big to travel with. I am plannig to rent from ABBF as well and use the light weight one for the airport or quick run at the resort. the price was not too much for the week. I am thinking of buying a Mac, the triumph, I will have to take a good look at it. I am also looking at the chicco C5. I vote rent the Gracco from ABBF. and get the double at the parks for the older kids. Have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

When we travel, our kids will be 7, 5, and 5 months. We're bringing the baby's stroller from home and we're planning to rent a single each day for the bigger kids and they can take turns.

We brought a double stroller last visit and figured with 3 kids they would swap around!

By mid afternoon day 2 we were more then happy to shell out the money for a rental just to stop the arguing over who got to ride. This year we will rent enough for every child to sit if they like. Much more magical!
