I am redoing Remy's room for her C'mas gift and searching for some "props" for some shelves. I saw some really gorgeous antique photos of children from the 1800s/early 1900s wearing some beautiful clothing and thought about buying them to put in some frames. Does that sound ok, or is it creepy?

just make sure they aren't those pictures that they took of the family AFTER they died. That would be creepy....

I had no idea that people did this back then until my friend told me about it and gave me a link. It still creeps me out thinking of it. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

It might mean more if you could find some pictures of family members from that era. I got some beautiful turn-of-the-century photographs of my grand and great-grandparents from my grandma. I even have some really neat pictures of my Grandma and Granddad at their wedding in 1927, and a really great pic of my dad as a tiny tot in 1932.

Are they posing? Standing up on their own? :rotfl:

You can tell, I'm just teasing ya!

Okay, this really struck me as funny!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, that's the first thing that came to my mind when I opened this thread. All I could picture were the photos taken of people who had already died. It is quite morbid, I think.

OP- I don't mean your idea is morbid. I mean the idea of dressing up dead people and taking their pictures is morbid.

Could you buy some heirloom clothing and have pictures taken of your girls in black and white? Make sure they do not smile... ;) At least you will know who is in the picture.

It's not creepy necessarily, but it doesn't sound like too much fun.

Maybe she would want to pick out her new bedroom set & decorations?

I vote to ditch the dead guys and go with a cute picture or figurine instead. Who wants to look at pictures of people you don't know (and who may or may not be running the last leg of the circle of life)?

Does her room have a theme? How od is she? Isn't it fun decorating the kids stuff? :teeth:
