Does the Wii play Game Cube games?

Someone I know told me you have to buy a special adaptor for the Wii to play the old gamecube games, but then I read you don't actually need to.

Can someone with a Wii please tell me?

Yes it does.

You will need your Gamecube controllers and memory cards. Hope you didn't get rid of them.

The Gamecube games go into the top of the Wii....DD9 figured that out before the rest of us! LOL The Gamecube controller also plugs in up there too!
