Does the Pixie Dust count if you don't KNOW about it? Finally Finished :( 11/24

Well you don't get much more magical for a little girl than a visit to the BBB, a meal at the castle and a photo shoot.pixiedust:

Laughed at the "fierce" comments.

My DD and I love watching "what not to wear" together. She then plays "Stacy and Clinton" with her barbies and they critique other barbie's outfits. It's hilarious to listen to.

Did you see the TR from the DISer that was on there? She is heading to Disney and managed to rescue some of her Disney clothes from Clinton and Stacy!!

The magic is always there at Disney. Think about it...you probably still get excited to see Mickey too. I've known for almost 30 years that he's a guy (or girl!) in a costume but when I'm there, I never even think about it...he's just Mickey ;)
I'm a bit fearful that there will be a time frame when she will be too cool to be into the characters. I think my DS(7) is going to be a true Disney fanatic. He likes rides like Test Track & Everest but he loves all the classic stuff too like Carosel of Progress and TTA. I give each child a $25 spending limit on our trips and he bought an autographed (not original) print of Walt drawing Mickey.

No what is the trip report called?
What not to wear. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1908295

Did anyone catch this weeks What Not to Wear? The chick loved to shop at the Disney Store and had Disney-themed bags. They made her donate them to children. So glad they can't see my closet :happytv:

I haven't read past the page where this was posted, but the girl on that episode is a DISer. If you want, I can look through my long list of subscriptions and give you her name on here. I only caught the last five minutes of it and was bummed cause I want to see it!

Today was our 2nd day of the “back to back” princess breakfasts. This morning, we were onto Akershus. I was a little nervous about eating in Norway (I don’t have the most adventurous eaters in my family) so we decided to stick with breakfast.

We had let DD skip a bath the night before and go to bed with in her royal getup so she was still in full princess mode when we woke her up

Today she had decided to dress as Jasmine. We all got dressed and headed over to the Royal Hall. I didn’t realize before that the only restaurant that does breakfast at Epcot is Akershus so the whole crowd was heading there. We followed the crowd and were called really quickly (before our ADR time again!) Belle was out front for pictures. If you haven’t been to Akershus, as of now, the picture is free with your breakfast. I’m sure that means that Akershus breakfast will be bumping up to 2 TS credits soon!

There was some good character interaction at Akershus. I don’t really know how they consider Mary Poppins a “princess” but it was nice to see her! The highlight was Mulan. In all our trips to Disney, we have never met Mulan. We’ve seen Mushu a couple of times but always missed Mulan. I was so excited to see her there. It got me over my disappointed that Jasmine wasn’t.

I don’t have many details about breakfast. I remember it being okay. There is a buffet of cold meat, seafood, and pastries and then they bring hot food family-style. DD was very excited that they had salami for breakfast so I think she ate a cinnamon roll, salami, and strawberries. She also had a cup of tea, which she drank slowly saying that she needed some “quiet time”…what have I DONE to this child???

After breakfast, we ran into DISer Erin13178. We talked briefly but didn’t get any pictures because her DD was not thrilled about her mom stopping and chatting with internet strangers.

MY child decided that she wanted to make a mask. Now in our previous trips to WDW, we have always kinda ran through Epcot cuz DD really wasn’t that interested in it. However, she clearly had remembered about the masks and was obsessed with making one. Problem was that we got done breakfast by like 9:30 so we had a lot of time to kill before World Showcase was open. We decided to head back to the front of the park. I remembered that the Land had a craft so I convinced her to do that first to stop the grump about not being able to do a mask yet. When we got into the building, the masses were heading toward Soarin’ of course but she wanted to color first…okey dokey!

621639819605_0_ALB.jpg
Notice the tongue…proves she was working hard on her venus flytrap!

After that, she was ready to try Soarin. She loved it (not that this was shock to me). She asked to go on again. So we did. While we were on Soarin’ I heard from DISer LuccaDrake. I had made plans to meet up with her and MistyMouse5001 at Epcot. MistyMouse’s son decided he wanted to go to MK instead of Epcot but I did end up seeing Beka (LuccaDrake). I called her back and we made plans to meet up later at the Seas. While we were on Soarin’ for the 2nd time, there was a family from Brazil in front of us. The little boy was about DD’s age and was enamored with her. He was convinced she was a real princess and kept calling her Princess. When we were leaving Soarin’, his mother asked if she could take a picture of DD for him…um okay.
We headed over to Living with the Land (which I had never been on). It’s an interesting ride. DD loved it. The little Brazilian boy ended up in the boat in front of us and kept turning around yelling at DD. It was really cute.
After that, we decided to head over to Imagination Building to ride Figment. This is another thing that we’ve never done at WDW. I don’t really get the Figment ride. DD did have fun in the ImagineWorks area afterward. The Kodak lady took her picture with the larger than life camera and printed it out for us. That was nice.

After we got done with that, we headed over to ride Test Track. I love Test Track. This was another new one for DD. It was another ride that said 20 minute wait but I don’t think we waited half of that. I especially love how I look the same in every test track picture.

After Test Track, it was about time to meet up with LuccaDrake. We did have enough time to ride Nemo first so we did that.

Apparently, I felt the need to take a bunch of pictures of this ride

This one came out blurry but I was so excited that the real dolphins swam by while we were riding

After we got off the ride, I went outside to meet up with LuccaDrake. I left DH inside with DD to explore the Seas. We found each other easily and chatted for awhile. Her DBF was nice enough to take some pictures. Please disregard the fact that my hair looked like a poodle at this point- Beka must have some fabulous product she uses on her hair cuz the humidity wasn’t touching her!!!

554752919605_0_ALB.jpg

After chatting, her and Dave came inside to meet my DH and DD. It was at this point that I couldn’t find them. I can’t tell you how nice Beka and Dave that they waited for me to go and find them. We all went to see Turtle Talk with Crush together. That show is so cute. This is another first for us at Epcot (I told you that we usually run through it!) After that, we parted ways with Beka and Dave so they could go meet family and we could head back to the hotel. We did stick around a little while in the Seas to finish exploring and so that I could take the obligatory “child in Bruce’s mouth” shot

When we came out, it was pouring. We decided to call it a day and head out. We had our ponchos so we were good. We also happily noted that despite my constant worry about the hurricanes, this was the first time it had rained…and at this point, we were on Day 6!

After a nap, we headed back out to Epcot for our dinner ADR at LeCellier. It was raining but not too hard when we set out. By the time we were done this picture, it was raining BUCKETS!

806670629605_0_ALB.jpg

We took a couple of pics, threw on our ponchos, and ran to Canada. Love those ponchos…aside from our feet, we were nice and dry when we arrived at Le Cellier. I couldn’t say the same for all the people who were trying to stand in Le Cellier’s tiny lobby asking if there were any openings. This is the 2nd year in a row that Le Cellier was where I found the most PO’d guests complaining that no restaurants at Epcot had openings. During Free Dining???? Are you kidding me???

Because I had met up with LuccaDrake, she had warned me that Le Cellier allows you to still get an appetizer included with the DDP if you got the “Chef’s Selection” menu. I mention this because not all the CMs seemed to know this. However, our waitress was fantastic and did know about it so that’s what we got. I got the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup and DH got the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage

556649819605_0_ALB.jpg

For Dinner, DH got the Herb-crusted Prime Rib (which I didn’t take a pic of ) and I got the Mustard-basted All Natural Chicken. DD got the hot dog kid’s meal that she refused to eat, so she mostly ate our meals! For dessert, we both got the Maple Crème Brulee…again that DD ate!

193349819605_0_ALB.jpg

I had the Glowtini to drink and DH had some kind of Canadian beer. I didn’t even get to keep my glowing ice cube. DD stole that too. But it kept her quiet so that was good!

After dinner, DD finally got to work on her mask. Notice the tongue again!

After mask making, there was some debate about staying for Illuminations. It has finished raining but DD was iffy. She was a little overtired and wasn’t’ sure if she wanted to stay. We started to head out but then she brightened up and said she wanted to watch. The park was dead ( I guess due to the rain) so we were able to get a spot outside of the UK right before the show started. The only annoying part was that there was a tree in the way for my pics. If you haven’t seen Illuminations recently, it seemed to have changed. The giant globe was gone. Instead, the pictures were projected onto Spaceship Earth as you are walking out. Most of my pics look like the water was on fire but that was kinda the extent of it. I’m guessing that they are making way for a new show at Epcot.

We got to the bus stop and had a little wait, not too bad. We met the most interesting family in front of us. I can’t begin to describe this family (well, I can but I fear that they may find this report and read this). I will let you know that the child informed my DD that he had over 70 Webkinz. I found this amazing…until his mother informed me that she “uses” them to homeschool him. I thought she meant as a reward…nope, she meant AS the lesson! She uses they trivia on the Webkinz website as his classes. I have learned that there are all kinds of people in this world. And boy, do we get a taste of it during our Disney trips.

Okay, all caught up now and I saw that LL, knower of everything has already informed you of the above info. I mean that in a good way, that women's a wealth of knowledge! The BBB pics were so cute! I especially loved the one from the photo session with tink around it. So sweet! The comments made about looking 'fierce' and the little girl that plays stacy and clinton barbies had me cracking up! I don't watch top model, but last season of Project Runway there was someone named Christian who described everything as FIERCE! DBF even uses it sometimes. And did you see I finally started my TR??? So no harassing me!

You thought you caught up!!!! Sorry about that!!! I'm heading over right now to read your TR!

Glad YOU thought she looked cute. This is a thread on the family board about how its should be called the Bibbidi Bobbidi Ho-Tique because they are making little girls look like prostitutes. Now, I don't know where these people live that prostitutes look like little girls with buns, tiaras, and makeup but in Boston...prostitutes definately don't look like that! But that thread made me start questioning my motherly judgement! :confused3

I'm all caught up now!

I checked into the What not to wear thread too. Thanks for the info. I had watched that episode before so it is a nice treat to follow along with her.

Love that cheddar soup! (okay and the bread and the creme brule) I don't even eat my main course when I am there.

My kids were all about the masks this trip too. They still play with them at home. Course they play with their webkinz too but I don't consider it their "homework". Isn't there some sort of state curriculum that you have to follow when you home school?

Glad I'm not the only one who was stuffed by the main course. After the pretzel bread and the soup (which I didn't even finish) I only ate a couple of bites of the chicken.

I did ask the lady if they had a state curriculum (I think in Mass they do) and apparently in their state, they do not. Mom told me that they just have to pass an exam at the end of the year. The little boy was only 7-8 so it wasn't THAT bad I guess but I was shocked to say the least.

Sigh. What is this world coming too? The little girls look like prostitutes! That is absurd. Pfffffft.

Sounds like another great day. I would love to see all the princesses but I think I would be meh about the food at Akershus.

I wish I had known that about Le Cellier! I didn't get to try the soup. I so want to do the deluxe dining next time. Yum Yum!

I have been pricing out sewing machines. :rolleyes1

Let me know if you find any deals! I really need (okay want ;) ) a new one!
See I know nothing about sewing machines. I have only used one briefly in high school so I am starting from scratch. I sent my mom a bunch of links and asked her which one would be good for me. Not too complicated but so I could sew clothes and she picked out a brother one. It doesn't look intimidating so I am liking it. :lmao:

I want one that is computerized. I'm hoping that I might find a deal on Black Friday...you know, when I'm supposed to be shopping for my family??? :rotfl:

WORK???? On Black FRIDAY???? Oh that makes me sad :sad1:

Luckily I've worked here 9 1/2 years so I always get Black Friday off. There are some benefits to seniority!

I do work at a banks customer service phone center so we have to be ready to help people spend all their money! :lmao:

Plus the other girl in my department takes off the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas. She has seniority. I am taking off the day after New Years. Which is exciting to me! :lmao:
