Does the Pixie Dust count if you don't KNOW about it? Finally Finished :( 11/24

Today was the day DD had been waiting for…BBB and breakfast at CRT. Also known as things that you would NEVER spend that much money on at home but do at Disney…because it’s DISNEY!

On the way to Cindy’s, we stopped in the the empty (not yet open) park for pics. We had to stand to the side because there was actually a wedding going on to the right of the castle. I wanted to get a little closer to take a peek but they actually wouldn’t let us near them.

After that, it was on to BBB. DD had long since decided what hairstyle she wanted. As she only believes that one of the styles “looks” like a princess…that’s the one she picked. She looked at the FGIT like she was crazy for asking if she wanted to look at the brochure of other styles.
BBB went very smoothly. We got there a little early and were taken RIGHT in. DH waited outside listening to his IPOD. I went in to watch the Princess-ification process. I was actually impressed at how efficient it all was. I was a little disappointed in “main” FGIT. She looked bored throughout most of it and didn’t really talk to DD while she was doing her hair. I noticed a lot of other FGITs were chatting away to their princesses. But it didn’t seem to bother DD. The makeup/nails FGIT was far more friendly. At the reveal part, they both perked up. Although the cynical part of me thought that they were hamming it up for the photopass photographers.

Anyway, here is the transformation:

Overall the experience was very fun for DD. She was so excited. I guess that makes it worth every ridiculously overpriced penny! After that, we had breakfast ADRs at CRT. We had some time to kill so we let DD play in the just opened Fantasyland. She ran through some bubbles and then we headed over to see Ariel before the line got too long. We also rode Peter Pan twice. Tip if you are trying to plan BBB and CRT….Disney will tell you that you need 2 hours in between appointments. I originally listened to them and then thought that this sounded NUTS. So I changed the appointments to make them 1 hour and 15 minutes apart. We STILL had a ton of extra time.

After that it was finally time to go eat with Cindy. The wait was insane. I mean the wait after we were inside! We didn’t end up getting seated until 40 minutes after our ADR time. While we were waiting for Cindy to arrive to pictures, we were entertained by a CM with Disney trivia. We rocked…although I have to admit that there were a couple that stumped me. Finally Cindy showed up. It was really cool that it was the same Cindy as last year. DD now believes that THIS is the real Cinderella who lives in the Castle. She also believes that THIS Cindy is best friends with Tink and “helps” Tink get ready for Wishes!!!

Then we were finally brought upstairs to eat. We were starving at this point. The food was “MEH” as always. Seriously, $115 for eggs in NUTS but as I always advise DISers, you pay for the experience at CRT, not the food. We were a little disappointed that they didn’t do anything nice for our anniversary. Last year we got the champagne flutes. This year, they didn’t even mention it. In general, we noticed that Disney seems to be cutting back on the anniversary freebies. We didn’t get a single free dessert but did get a bunch of nice cards. That’s fine with us since we usually stuffed by dessert time but I thought I would mention it if anyone is taking an anniversary trip soon.

Here are some Princess shots from the castle.

One thing we missed last year at CRT was the wishing ceremony. The waiter rushed us out so fast last year that we were gone before they did it. This year we didn’t feel rushed at all (I’m sure to the dismay of the people who were waiting 40 extra minutes downstairs!). So we did get to do the Wishing Ceremony. DD took it very seriously.

After we left Cindy, we found this nice lady standing outside the castle (Last year she was inside CRT for breakfast so that was another change). She was super sweet and a fun character overall.

After chatting with the Fairy Godmother we headed back over to Fantasyland. First stop was to see the Pooh Characters. We had never met Darby before so this was a treat. Notice I said “Darby.” This is not Christopher Robin wearing a purple headband. We had to correct a BUNCH of people in line who were questing why Christopher Robin was wearing a headband.

Lest you think DD is ladylike and full of grace!

After that, we went to take Fantasyland by storm and went on every ride there! I just didn’t take pictures of most of them…except of course one of DD’s favorites and my LEAST favorite ride.

TeaCups

After Fantasyland, we hit Toontown and rode Barnstormer a couple of times.

We went into Mickey’s House and he was there with the Mrs.

Family Photo-OP!

After we finished ToonTown, we took the train to the front of the park to go get DD’s photo session done. Luckily, we got a great photographer so they came out well. BTW, they do not advertise that you don’t have to pay for the photo session if you go to BBB. They just put the pictures on your Photopass Card. So if you are buying the CD anyway, all the photos are included.

After that, we called it a day and headed back to AKL for more swimming and napping!

Wonderful update! That first picture of the castle is gorgeous!

Love all the pictures from BBB. What fun! I love her dress too, very cute. I saw little girls getting that photo session when I went in there and I figured it was from BBB. Good to know.

I just love looking at all of your pictures!

The dress is really adorable. I like the pale yellow color of it, not too bright and shocking!

Thanks! The shoes on the other hand were a nightmare. They cut her feet up LITERALLY within minutes (and I had used Body Glide on her feet before I put them on.) Of course, she refused to put on her back up crocs so what you can't tell in the pictures is that both of feet are covered in bandaids! Thank God I keep a fully stocked first aid kit in our park bag!

Awww! She is already suffering for fashion sake! :lmao: I am so glad I packed lots of bandaids as well! They are a Disney must have.

:rotfl: That's my little fashionista! It's cuz I let her watch America's Next Top Model. She actually asked during her photo session why the lady didn't want her to look "fierce" in any of the photos!

Okay. I am laughing out loud at that one. That is way too funny! Marc and I kept joking about looking fierce while we were taking pictures on our wedding day!

Nice! You'll have to post some of the wedding photos on your trip report so I can see your "fierce" wedding day :rotfl:

So I just put on the vice presidential debate in hopes of putting DD to sleep and she actually started watching it. She then said "I hope that Lady wins" I asked why...she replied "cuz she's the prettiest!" :lmao:

:lmao: Oh my. You are going to have your hands full.

I meant to reply earlier to the What Not To Wear comment. She is a DISer! She has a TR right now, her name is Kelly (I think?) Her TR is titled "What Not to Wear" or something like that. :goodvibes

How funny is that??? She's a DISer. I have to find her report now!

LOVE that castle photo with all the bricks an NO other folks in it!!!

This is such a great photo too!!!!

Looks like a very magical day.

It was a great day. My DD has figured out that Mickey is a guy in a costume (nobody told her, she just figured it out when she was 3) but she still believes that those are "real" princesses so I always love interacting with the princesses because she is so thrilled.

I am loving your trip report! I really like your daughter's Belle dress. We are doing the BBB for the first time in Feb., and I am still trying to decide between buying her dress there or getting it ahead of time. I have looked at the dresses on the BBB threads and don't love any of them. Hopefully, I will find the perfect princess dress before Feb. I wish I could make customs like you! I am just not that talented.

You are a Smith family too :)

I would not suggest buying a dress there. They are really expensive and very scratchy. Every little girl I saw buying one there was complaining about how much they itched. Buy one after Halloween on clearance. You'll get a great price!

Do you have a sewing machine? Each outfit gets a little easier...I promise ;)

My tomboy Emma has never believed that the costume characters are real but she must think the face characters are because she won't go near them. My oldest, Lizzy, however was 8 before she figured it out. I was worried that some of the magic would be gone for her on her next trip after she knew but she was drawing pictures for the Pooh characters at the airport so I knew the magic would still be there.

The magic is always there at Disney. Think about it...you probably still get excited to see Mickey too. I've known for almost 30 years that he's a guy (or girl!) in a costume but when I'm there, I never even think about it...he's just Mickey ;)
