Does the Pixie Dust count if you don't KNOW about it? Finally Finished :( 11/24

Where are the pics of your kiddos all dressed up???

I'm not as camera savy as you are (or as talented with a sewing machine) but I think I've got you beat opening doors and serving Trick or Treaters.

Glad to hear only your pride was wounded but it reminded me about your ankle. I remember when you hurt it last summer. How is it doing?

Can you believe that I haven't had some kind of freak sewing machine incident yet :lmao:

Yes, that's right. This is the 2nd time this year that I've fallen out my door :rotfl: Ankle is okay...the broken toe kills now that the weather is getting colder. Sadly that's a sign that I'm getting old right??? :confused3

Can you believe that I used to give campus tours when I was in college as my workstudy job. You have to walk BACKWARDS for campus tours. I can't believe that I'm here to tell the tale!!! :rotfl2:

This weekend was the grand opening of American Girl Place Boston...which is really in Natick but I'll get over the poor name choice.

Thought I would share some pics

As we were walking back out to the car, we passed the Piercing Pagoda. It was at this point that DD decided that today was day she wanted to get her ears pierced. OK!!!! So she picked out a pair with her birthstone and we got them pierced. Here is the process....

I will warn you, she looks TORTURED in the one when they actually pierced them. But, she did not cry or even say OW! Immediately after this picture was taken she said "Oh that didn't really hurt"

So I'm now the proud Mommy of a little girl with "sparkly" ears!!!

Awww. Sparkly ears! Tell her they look very good! :thumbsup2

I really want to go to the American Girl Place. I need to "rent-a-kid". :lmao:

I wish we had a American Girl Doll place here. I will have to take Grace one day. Tell your dd that she looks beautiful with her new sparkely ears. Dh said I can go pierce Grace's ears when I want too just don't tell him ahead of time. He wants to know about it when it is all over with. I don't know when I am going to do it. I hope you had a fun day.

Hi! I just read your TR and it was great!

This is a little off topic but......

I just wanted to stop in and say that I love you daughter's name! It's my middle name, and no one ever knows what I'm talking about or how to say it. I have gone my whole life with people teasing me saying "ace-ling" and its really annoying. I have never in my life seen anyone with the same name, spelled the same way and it's even more beautiful as a first name!

Ok, you probably think I'm weird now, but I just had to tell you thank you for not leaving me all alone anymore! :) :cutie:

OH we didn't tell my DH til we got home. I think he would have been okay with it but it was more fun to surprise him!!!!

Don't think you are weird at all. But I have to comment, if you are an Astros fan I'm guessing that you don't live around here. It's not a common name in Boston but I know a few Aislings here and in NY (where there are larger Irish American populations).

I have a friend who's middle name is Aisling. Her whole life she pronounced it Ace-Ling because her parents saw it in a book and didn't know how to pronounce it. Our Junior year of college, all the girls whom I lived with went overseas to study or intern abroad. I went to Ireland as did my friend (although she was out west and i was in Dublin). She proudly showed off her EXTREMELY Irish name and the poor girl got made fun of! She now pronounces it "correctly" I guess (although my argument to her is that your name IS what your parents called you at birth. So if they pronounced it differently- that's how YOUR name is pronounced)

:lmao: I'll let you know.

I am sure you have gone over this before but how do you pronounce your DD's name? Just so I can say it right in my head when I read it. :goodvibes

It's Ash-ling. Now because of my Boston accent, it doesen't sound exactly how my friends in Ireland say it. When they say it, it's more like ah-sh-leang but it's close enough!
