Does the Dining Plan save you money in the long run?

Since this thread was posted a year ago, I've had to swallow my words. I have a *free* dining package booked for this fall. Why? Because no matter how I ran the numbers, I could not do the trip for myself, my sister and her two adult daughters for less. Even with an AP room discount, tickets from one of the discounters for the three of them, and a TiW card that has already more than paid for itself, I cannot feed 4 adults twice a day on the difference in price between that and the 3-night *free* dining package with 4-day park hoppers.

I still plan on eating only what I feel like ordering, without regard as to whether I'm getting the most for my money. And I'll probably get fresh fruit that I can pop in my bag instead of dessert most of the time. But for this trip, the dining plan works for us because it is *free*.
Thanks for being honest. :yay:

The dining plan can work. It really depends on what people are doing on that particular trip. And on who is going.

Some trips it works for us. Some, not so much.
