Does the Brita water bottle work?

I know others have bought this... does it actually work to filter the water and make it taste good? How bad is the water in FL anyhow? I'm debating to keep mine or just get a normal water bottle.

For me, this was a great investment. I ordered a glass of water at Crystal Palace and it tasted terrible. Same for the water in the resort. Maybe it has to do with what water you are use to at home, but for me the Brita bottle made a big difference in the taste.
Since they are being discontinued, I have stocked up on filters. HTH

We really think it makes a difference. My wife takes hers to work with her everyday. We will be packing them when we head back to WDW in July.

I recently bougt mine and enjoy it, but it leaves a little more than 1/4 of a cup in the bottom that you cannot drink. I'm not sure how bad the water is at WDW, but from the impression I get I do not want to find out. :) So, I plan to take mine to WDW and just pour out the extra each time. Who knows maybe I am diong something wrong for the extra water to be left inside the bottle. :confused3

We live in NH and have our own well. I never drink the water at work because it tastes like city water. Orlando water was 10 times worse than at work! To me it was really bad. My drink of choice is water.

We stayed at FW. I filtered the water through my brita pitcher and then through the brita sports bottle so it was filtered twice. It was much better.

I do something a little different than everyone else on the boards. There are 3 of us DH, me and DD(3.5). We each have a 14oz Nalgene water bottle. We have 1 Brita sports bottle. Each day I packed a backpack with fruit chews, granola bars, a baggie of cashews, raisins and a juice box for each of us. I also packed our 3 Nalgene bottles (full) and the 1 Brita bottle in case I need to filter more water in the parks. I drink a lot of water.

By having 1 Brita sports bottle I don't use as many filters and don't have to keep track of whether my filter needs changing but our DD or DH's doesn't. The brita pitcher has an idicator on it so I know approx. how much water I can put through it. I think it's 36 gals. The Brita Sports bottle filters are good for approx. 1/2 of the pitcher's so I know when the indicator on the pitcher gets to 1/2 that I need to change my sports bottle filter.

We used the Brita sports bottles for the first time on this trip and we all thought it worked really well. Actually, we took in regular bottled water (purchased at Sam's for something like $4.00 for 32 bottles) in bottle holders for each of us...and then DH carried a couple of Brita bottles that we could use to fill up the smaller bottles (that fit in our insulated holders--the Brita bottles were too big) as needed. DH used to haul several bottles around at a time (he's a big drinker and we can't stand the water there) so he really liked the Britas. We also found that some water is leftover and couldn't be squeezed through the filter...we just refilled at that point. Something else we did: cooked with it. We were afraid that the unfiltered water would make our cooked food taste yucky too. (We were in a villa)

Question for those who've had these for awhile (since I'm not very savvy about filters ;) ): I doubt that we've filtered a full 15 gallons through the bottles at WDW...can we still use these filters again in the future or should we toss them?
