Does the ADR system automatically apply your DDP credits?

We have the basic DDP for our trip. When I make our ADRs online, and enter the reservation number when my 180 + 10 window comes up (by then it will be back to 180), will the system know I am on the DDP and apply it automatically to all my ADRs?

I am concerned about this for 2 reasons...First, my parents, sister and nieces will be joining us for CRT dinner, and they are not on the DDP, and this meal requires full credit card payment. Should I just pay it and then when I arrive at the restaurant straighten it out with them and have them reimburse me on the credit card? Second, we have a 10-night reservation, but more than 10 TS meals planned. So a few of those will be OOP, and I would like to do this for the breakfast ADRs since they cost less money than the TS dinners. How does this work with the new online system? Will it just take my TS credits for the first 10 ADRs I make? Do I still have a choice to pay OOP for whatever meals I want to pay OOP and not use TS credits?

I don't think that you are charged dining credits until you pay the bill.

However, I have read numerous reports that if you book a Dinner show like Hoop Dee or the Luau in advance, when you go to use your room card for your first dinner, it will show a deduction of credits for those shows as well.

I don't know that it does that for CRT.

Don't worry!...Just back, and the credits are not automatically taken with your booking! I paid OP for Sci Fi and Chefs de France, and used credits for my other meals.

Usually when you check in your server will as if you are on the dining plan.
If you want to use credits, say "yes" and they calculate/explain accordingly.
If you don't want to use credits, say "no" and order as you wish and pay OP.

I actually used Disney visa rewards for Chefs...no method of payment seems to get refused.

Have fun!:flower3:

You do have to use a credit credit to hold certain ADRs though, so be prepared for that. I even had to for the Princess Storybook breakfast, but you can still choose to pay with dining credits and not your credit card when you pay.

OK, this makes me feel better.

I am still confused though, as far as how to make the ADR for the larger party for CRT. We will be 10 people altogether, 4 on the DDP and 6 not on the DDP. I think I have to call for a party of 10, correct? If I do, hopefully the CM on the phone will know what they are doing, and not charge the 4 of us but only charge for the other 6 people who are not on the DDP.

CRT still takes full payment by credit card when you make an ADR right?

You will have to call because you can't make reservations online for a party of 10 or more. There have also been a lot of reports that the online system will not always register that you are on the dining plan, even when you enter your reservation number. When booking a reservation that requires prepayment, the website often charges in full whether you are on the dining plan or not. Best way to avoid that, especially with a large party, is to make the reservation by phone.

I do not know what they do to split the party between dining plan and no dining plan. They might just take your credit card to hold the reservation and everyone pays on arrival in whatever method they want to use.

Dining credits are never deducted at the time a reservation is made. You won't even have dining credits until you check into your resort. No credits are deducted from your account until your card is swiped at the restaurant.

Then I have a question. We are on Dining Plan (free) and I booked hoopdeedo online and a credit card was not required. I have a conformation number and I have confirmend it. Now how is that working.

OK, thanks! My parents and my sister are ready to pay for the CRT dinner up front because the standard procedure is to pay in full when the ADR is booked. So either way it will be fine.

Now, the question is...will it be very difficult or next to impossible to get an ADR for CRT dinner if I wait until 7AM to call, since others will have a one-hour advantage over me when they book through the online ADR system? We are going in mid-July 2010 (our date to make ADRs is January 14, 2010). We arrive on July 13, 2010. DH, our sons and I will be there for 10 nights, and my parents and sister will be there for 4 nights (they're also staying on property and my sister is making their ADR for Akershus since we are not joining them there...she has 2 girls who LOVE princesses!). I don't think Disney will offer free dining during that time, but how difficult is it to get an ADR for the CRT dinner at that time of year, generally speaking?
