Does SSR have the refillable mugs? Also, any idea where you fill them and what size they are? I prefer the size that fits in my car but will probably buy some either way the two teens I'm with will certainly use them.

Thanks for any help!

The refillable mugs for SSR are the big, plastic mugs. It won't fit in a normal size car cup holder. The mugs can be filled at the pool bar - dispenser is to the left of the bar for sodas, lemonade, and water. You can also fill the mugs at Artist Palette. In addition to soda, they have coffee, hot chocolate, and hot & cold tea. It's a great deal if you plan on spending a lot of time at the resort. We got our money's worth last week!

Yes, according to AllEarsNet, SSR has refillable mugs. I'm sure they are the same size and shape as the mugs available at the other WDW resorts. (So they won't fit in your car's cup holder unless you have a HUGE holder, LOL). They can be filled at Artist Palette and Pool Bar. Here's a link to all you ever wanted to know about refillable mugs:

Refillable Mugs at WDW

Best wishes -

Thanks - wish they were the travel size..... then I would use them when I got home - it's great advertising as I get comments on my Port Orleans mug but have never lugged around the Boardwalk mug!

I love using a mug when I take walks around the resort waiting for the teens to get up. It's really pathetic but I will probably buy one at the Beach Club even though we are only spending two nights there

2 more days!!!!!!!

We were in December and they were generic looking, nothing SSR related on them. They are the fatter mugs, didn't have any taperd bottoms.

They are the 16oz mugs. I wish they would get the large 64oz ones like they have at Coronodo.

How late can you fill the mugs at SSR? When does Artist's Pallette and/or the pool bar close?

The Artist's Palette is open from 7am to 11pm (not ideal for early risers or Extra Magic Hours). We just came back from there and the mugs have a Tinkerbell design with red handle/top. I guess they change them every so often to discourage people from trying to use mugs from a previous trip, but about 50% of the people we saw were using mugs from other resorts or previous trips.

It would be nice if you could use the mug at other resorts during your stay - does anyone know if that's "legal'?

Nope, unfortunately not "legal" to do. Current policy is that mug is only good for the resort purchased at for the length of your stay. Doesn't mean that people don't do things "illegally" but if you want to follow the rules, that's what they are.

At SSR last summer they only had the larger mugs. We did inquire about the smaller travel size, they said that they do carry them but were out. Looking at this board, seems like they never have them.

I bought one when we were at BCV last September - the one available at the pool bar (only there for one night). I loved it so much. I still use it, but my dog did get ahold of it one day and made a mess out of the handle. :dog2:

What is this "buying a mug" of which you speak?

I purchased a nice big bucket at Home Depot, scrawled "S S R" in black marker and have had no problem filling it up - well, it does take a while and it's very heavy when filled .... ;)

Shhh, don't tell anyone but we had take out pizza once from one of the resorts and ate it in our room. Well hubby knew he would probably have to treck back to the food court because we all would suck down the pop so quickly and he didn't want to do this. So being the smart man he is - ha ha - he not only took our mugs to fill up but also one of those souvineer popcorn containers you get at the parks and filled that up with pop too. :rotfl:

Good thing I wasn't with him or I would be embarrassed :)

Dr. T.

I beleive they are referring to MIGS at SS!

We too use the Orange HD 5 Gallon Bucket

. I bring my oil change funnel to let me rest the bucket on the floor, while DD 5 holds the funnel, and DS presses the soda release.

What my DW came up with, is a carrying arrangement, with a board with shoulder harnesses on each end, that we pass throught the handle and attach to DD13 & DS10 shoulder's. Our :drinking1 Soda Schlepper :drinking1 is a big hit, and leaves our kids hands free to carry the souviners that DW and I buy each other!

P.S. Some guy named Dave said you can't refill SSR refillable mugs at SSR you actually have to take 3 Boats to another resort for refills! Does anyone know if this is true?
With apologies to Daitcher and B^3!

BTW Here is how we USED to do it!
